Well executed tribute to a much maligned king

I have had an interest in Richard III since a child and have followed the story of his discovery with interest. I was keen to see his final resting place which was simplistic and tasteful. On the day we visited there were many other people but not too busy that it was impossible to move around on your own. The... More

Whichever side of the fence one sits regarding Richard III, his tomb is undoubtedly a fitting regal tribute. Sited with great care and executed with both sensitivity and panache, it has proved to be a visitor attraction of great merit - and, doubtless, of considerable financial gain to the Cathedral. In a sense it is a shame that it so... More

It's a long time since I was in Leicester and boy has it changed! The cathedral is as I remember it, a little oasis of calm in the city. It is a very attractive little cathedral and well worth a visit. The tomb of Richard III is actually very moving and appropriate and the displays are intelligent and thought provoking.... More

A lot has happened at Leicester Cathedral in the past months since the reinternment of Richard III. But the event has complemented rather than overawed the sense of peace and quiet withing this beautiful building. The tomb of Richard is simple, yet set lovely in its own area, a place for thought and reflection. Quite an emotional visit indeed. The... More

Arrived (12.30)just as they were closing the door ,so not sure if they limit how many people they let in at a time . I didn't have a guide or a tour . I just had a wander round. The cathedral has wonderful stained glass windows and the place has a lovely serene feel . Richard III tomb is understated but... More

Pleased to see how much the area around the Cathedral has been cleaned up although this is the first time that I have gone inside. Some beautiful stained glass Windows. The tomb of Richard iii was impressive, simple but poignant very tasteful. Staff were helpful and knowledgeable.

Went to see a concert here. The church is absolutely beautiful and the acoustics are superb. Of course, now holding the remains of King Richard the third. well worth a visit.

The main reason for my trip to Leicester was to learn more about Richard lll. The Richard lll display closes at 4pm I think so it was too late for me to get in so crossed the road to the Cathedral. Again there was a suggested entrance fee of £3 and I had missed the guided tour at 2pm so... More

A couple of things: check the cathedral website for service times as you can't see the tomb while there's a service on, and note that access to the tomb closes 30 mins before a service starts. There are refreshments, toilets etc in the centre next door. I was impressed by how much this "medieval streets" part of Leicester has been... More
