A real treat to find this beautiful family home! I was on a planned trip to Calke Abbey, and spotted a sign for Melbourne Hall.I belong to HHA, so was given free admission. The house is stunning, well kept, room guides interesting and friendly. The gardens are exquisite, beautifully kept, a joy to go round. Great tea room as well.... More

Have visited Melbourne Hall since my eldest was an infant. Remember her doing rolls down the garden hills. Shes 13 now,so doesnt do that anymore. My other two do though. The garden has given our family many happy days,to remain in our memory. A beautiful, intruiging, enticing garden to explore.

The Hall is only accessible in August as it is a lived in family home of the Kerrs. An excellent tour available on the Saturday by a very knowledgeable guide who gave the full history of the hall and its occupants. The second Viscount, William Lamb, was an early Prime Minister under Victoria's reign and it is due to him... More

A very interesting place to visit, particularly in August when you can get a tour of the house. The Tea Room is excellent and the staff are great - very accommodating! I took a group and we toured the house and then the garden, which we found fascinating, particularly the bird cage! Around every corner was another area to explore!... More

A very interesting place. A few nice individual shops selling craft things. We found a very talented lady making cakes that were amazing! The gardens and lake were lovely. There is a cafe selling delicious cakes and food and you can sit outside in the courtyard if there's room. Will defiantly be returning. Well worth the visit.

A place worth a visit - house only opens in August however the little boutique-style outlets are worth a visit as is a walk around the lake where there were lots of ducks and other water fowls.

I Loved it…kids a bit bored… Great history of the family and the paintings are amazing. Lovely lovely staff that were so welcoming even though we were late and really they should have closed.

Had a lovely walk around Melbourne Pool and then Melbourne Hall. Stopped for something to eat and drink rather than walking into Melbourne. It's basic, hit the spot but probably wouldn't re visit. The menu looked Ok but lacked imagination on the plate and felt it was only OK.. Better places for a snack in Melbourne itself where you can... More

After an hours walk with our dogs around Mebourne Pool we were looking forward to a bite to eat. Luckily it was a dry day so we sat outside with our pooches under a gazebo, very handy when it started to rain. There was a bowl of water provided for dogs however this was full of soil? There was waitress... More
