we had been to the tower ballroom before, but last time the non dancers were encouraged to join in for certain dances. Our grandchildren really thought as we did that they did this all the time, how wrong we were. All the organists played only the established music for dancers, not once did they say now for something for our... More

Hi Edith T, Thanks for reviewing the Blackpool Tower Ballroom. I'm sorry that the selection of dances weren't to your taste. For many, the venue is the pinnacle of Ballroom dancing and the best place to test themselves alongside the pros! Everyone in the Ballroom shares the same passion, dancing, and I'm confident that the regulars and the organists would... More

I am at the age whereby I thought if my husband took me to see the Ballroom I would run a mile. We went and what a brilliant time we had. Its worth paying the extra for afternoon tea. Tea is served in a tea pot with cups and saucers, You get a tier stand with a selection of sandwiches... More

Lovely atmosphere and some great staff but the best seating seems to be reserved for people ordering either afternoon or high tea. Never used to be like this as you could sit anywhere until recently. I asked one of the bar team about this and apparently people asked for this in customer surveys. I find it hard to believe that... More

Hi frankandtrin, Thanks for reviewing the Blackpool Tower Ballroom! I'd imagine that you might have seen the Afternoon Tea area absolutely heaving, as they are a tremendously popular product. Seating them in the prime seats is not only part of the Afternoon Tea experience, but it also makes serving the food, and clearing the tables etc. far less obstructive of... More

The hotel we stayed out was rather "worn out". Worn carpets and in need of some serious redecoration. The en-suite was just the right size as a dog kennel. But the breakfasts were good and plenty of it. The Blackpool Tower and its famous ballroom made the trip worthwhile. Can't do Blackpool without going to the top of this landmark... More

Having pre booked our high tea on line we had to pick up our tickets from the foyer in the tower. There was a very large queue which started well outside the tower. Unfortunately for us the signs were not visible as to which queue to stand in which delayed us even more. First impressions were not great. It all... More

Hi apart8, Thanks for reviewing the Blackpool Tower Ballroom. I don't really have much to add to your review other than to say the pricing is both unacceptable and an oversight on our part. We are in the process of a menu change in collaboration with some new suppliers, and our IT department changed the prices before the tills were... More

We took our daughter and granddaughter who was 9 years old. We paid for high tea and booked a table in advance, this is cheaper to do on line or direct with the tower before you travel. You pick your tickets up in the tower on the day you arrive. High tea was lovely and scones really tasty. The architecture... More

Had a lovely couple of hours watching the ballroom dancing very entertaining. Costs £2.95 for adults free for children if you want to watch from upstairs where there is a bar, or you can watch from below and costs from £37 which includes afternoon tea. The ballroom is absolutely stunning

A truly beautiful building full of charm and character. Spent a wonderful afternoon there enjoying a scrummy Cream Tea and watching some lovely dancers.

We didn't visit the tower ballroom because after we had climbed all the stairs, we were informed by a guard on the ballroom door that we would have to buy a ticket to go into the ballroom. It's a new thing that they now charge people to watch the public dance! How mean. I will not visit again or recommend.

Hi Claire P, We'll be sorry to see you go! It's an absolute privilege to sit and enjoy everything the Ballroom has to offer, so I'm sorry you found the £2.95 balcony charge too steep. £1 from every ticket goes into a restoration fund for the Ballroom, allowing us to do some essential renovations once we've rasied enough money.
