Only 1 staff on duty to deal with visitors buying tickets but by avoiding that desk and going upstairs we were helped by a lady who directedus elsewhere to get the tickets we needed. Once in, we thoroughly enjoyed the 2 organists and watching the dancers.

We arrived at 11.20 am to find that 70%of the seats were reserved for afternoon tea. The only seating was against the back wall behind the pillars. We did not therefore enjoy the ambience of this wonderful ballroom. Both organist played the same routine at each session and our requests for different dances were ignored. They seem to have changed... More

When I was younger I used to love to watch people dancing in the Tower Ballroom. That was when you could get in for free. I visited the Tower the other day only to be told it would cost me £2.95 to watch from the balcony. Shame on you.......

Whilst in the surrounding area, I thought I would take a look at one of the most historic and famous ballrooms in existence. Glad I did. This place is packed with character of old decor that was current and popular in late Victorian/early Edwardian which gives a grand and impressive look altogether. Whilst sitting down and relaxing, you can see... More

This grand old ballroom is a well kept example of our days gone by and a delight to sit & enjoy. We only watched the dancers but it was a great experience.

Excellent to watch dancers and dance if you do. Just need to be aware that there are two levels of tea when you book and this is not made clear. Normal tea is sandwich, scone ,cream & jam pot of tea. High tea includes a cake!!
