Not as large as Chester zoo but it's still good for adults and kids alike and loads of fun. It's not really much cheaper than Chester though

So after planning a couple of days out with the family we decided to make a visit to the zoo. I did the usual online planning and prepaid for our ticket saving a few pounds on our trip (which always helps) So the day of our visit was a little nippy and arriving at the zoo at about 10.15am found... I went with a friend who had a zoo keeper for the day package, bought for her birthday. It was amazing. What a fantastic experience for both of us. The keepers were knowledgeable, friendly and very welcoming. I can't wait to visit the zoo again because it was such a lovely environment for the animals. A great day out!

I am a member at this zoo and visit regularly, in both Summer and Winter months. Its good value for money membership wise, about £15 an adult day visit otherwise. A great size for toddlers to get round in a day and really child friendly. Food is good and reasonably priced although only the main cafe is open during Winter... More

Took 2 grandaughters to see the animals & had a great time, weather was good as well which helped. Sea lions, real lions & Tigers. Elephants, Rhino & Giraffe didn't disappoint. Told youngest(2 years old) about the prehistoric dinosaur part of the zoo. With trepidation she walked in only to say" They aren't real grandad they are just pretend" Still... More

I have bought an annual ticket for my daughter and family for the last 6 years and they absolutely love this place summer and winter. If bought before end of year the price is very reasonable.

First time in a zoo for many years. Had some day out vouchers to use up so gave it a try, not expecting much. Friendly staff who explained a lot about their animals and the conservation work done by zoos. Plenty to see and plenty of open space for most animals. Amusing walk through the lemur enclosure where the residents... More

Went to see the zoo with a lot of expectations .. But it was disappointing... The place was not clean .. It smells in every corner .. The view of Animals is not great.. Many of them can only be seen through a glass..

Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry you were disappointed with your visit. All enclosures are cleaned on a daily basis, but the recent rain has caused some problems on the grassed areas around the park. Smells do go with large animals, but we do use disinfectants daily wherever possible. Our animals are all allowed the freedom to spend their... More
