The walk was about 20 mins and very easily accessible. You can park by the Windermere hotel which has free 2hr parking above the hotel. The route is well signed by posts and although the walk up is quite steep it is well worth it when you make it to the top. We went at sunset which was particularly beautiful.

A easy walk even for beginners. Take it at an easy pace and you can reach the top in around 30 mins. Once at the top it is stunning 360° views and amazing views of the lake. Well worth trying.

Arrest Head can be accessed directly from Windermere itself and there are good paths to the summit. It is wheelchair friendly until about 2/3 of the way up, where there's a good viewing point, but after that the stone paths are on foot only. Fantastic views from a relatively low summit - well worth the short climb. It can get... More

Once you've done the climb the views are well worth it, you can see over Lake Windermere & on a really clear day you can see the mountains in the distance

One of the best walks from Windermere is the short climb up Orrest Head which opens out with lovely views of Lake Windermere and the coniston fells This is a very short walk, but ideal if you simply want an excellent viewpoint of the southern lakes without putting in much effort. As only one lane is largely followed the directions... More

This is the perfect place to begin and to continue your love of the Lake District. The best thing about your first time visit is the element of surprise you get as you reach the summit of Orrest Head. The path starts to the left (as you look at it) of the Windermere Hotel. Keep going straight up the tarmac... More

Easy walk up the hill to have some great views. Great with a dog. Easy for parking and other nearby amenities.

The views from the top are amazing. There are 2 routes, there is the recommended route or if your looking for something a little easier, go the other way, as this is tarmac'd for home owners. It's a nice easy walk and this was my first ever hill walk.
