We visited here. after being given a 2:1 voucher from protest. We arrived on a Tuesday and were the only ones there. We have a dog so had only planned on going around the gardens and were not disappointed. The walled garden was beautiful with an amazing array of fruit trees. The views and plants were glorious. We stayed for... More

Collectors of contemporary ceramics and day trippers have a perfect venue at Hutton in the Forest. The grounds are glorious and the stately trees provide shade for parking and for picnics. Potfest in the Park is a small but well attended art fair offering wares to suit every pocket in a relaxed and friendly setting. The restaurant at Hutton is... More

I visited during Potfest and then used a 2 for 1 voucher to revisit. This is a beautiful place. The house is very well kept, very clean with fresh flowers in the rooms. All the woodwork is gleaming and there is no sign of any dust unlike some other houses I have been to. The gardens range from spectacular flower... More

We visited the area and happened to see the Pot fest 2014. Some interesting pieces of ceramics with a number of international stalls. Good selection but pricey. It is artisan quality though! Well done. Stately home and gardens are average within this category. There is so much to see in the lakes, I will make time to visit some of... More

We took a group of friends from overseas to visit the house and gardens. Overall I felt it expensive £10pp for house and gardens, the tour takes around a number of rooms with antiques and old paintings. The tea room was a real let down, paper cups...paper plates..tea £1.50 a cup is made in a communal huge pot which was... More

We have not been here since last year but like most stately homes it is kept up to a good standard. There is the usual tea room with a good selection of homemade goodies. Outside the gardens are extensive and well presented with plants for sale. They have an extensive calendar of events the next being Postfest in the Park... More

I very rarely post reviews, but I feel Hutton in the Forst definitely deserves a review! The lovely ladies there very kindly looked after my dog Rosie whilst I went on the tour of the castle, which was carried out by a excellent guide! Beautiful castle and the ground were gorgeous too, and I was able to take my dog... More

We enjoyed a varied and engaging guided tour of this lovely family home with Christine. With only four of us on the tour there was plenty of opportunity to explore and ask questions which bought the collection and interesting history to life. Sandwiches in the tea room were tasty although service a little slow. The gardens are beautiful. Our only... More

We visited Hutton during the last week of May. The gardens were spectacular. There is a large walled garden divided into various sections. The variety and colours were fantastic. It was one of the best gardens I've visited! In addition you are allowed to take your dogs into the walled garden which is quite rare. National Trust won't allow you... More

What a lovely afternoon - well worth the money. We toured the spectacular gardens 1st in glorious weather. A pleasure to admire and enjoy. The whole grounds are well maintained. Our guide for the tour of the interior and exterior of the house and gardens was very knowledgeable and interesting, due to her passion she went over the allocated time,... More
