Interesting place with changing exhibitions, Imax cinema, and a selection of shops. Shop selling local produce is very nice but a little expensive. Staff in bar are very pleasant. I was with a reunion which meant they were a little overwhelmed and a little slow.

Rheged is a lovely unique place. We went on a quiet morning, so we were fortunate to get served and seated in the cafe upstairs with no problems. There is a good selection of shops - I especially love the little sweet shop on the right as you go in.

Last year we came to an antiques fair here and this year we came again. Ob both occasions the antiques fair was fine. However, the coffee we had last year at cafe Pod was awful and we said that next year we would try the cafe Taste. This we did. At cafe Taste we asked for a capuccino but was... More

A great visitor attraction in wet weather if you have children who need entertaining. For adults there are a few shops that sell gifts, food and outdoor clothing.

We called in at Rheged on our way to a hotel as we had heard it mentioned many times. From the outside the place looks unique, as it's located inside a hill. Once inside however, there are not very many shops and they tend to be very overpriced for the same items that your could find elsewhere. A short 30... More

We visited the Rheged Centre on a dull day and generally thought it was very good, but it was a little bit disappointing for our three year old. The shops (especially the food ones) were excellent, with a lovely selection of items and gifts. The toy shop was great and had a lovely selection of books. The indoor play area... More

I have been to rheged for a number of training/ business events. The food is always a bit pretensious. A few plain sandwiches/ packets of crisps would go a long way not endless foccaccia bread with suspect fillings and cheddar/chilli and sour cream crisps(!) all of which get left. Is it deliberate so it can be recycled? The food is... More

Enjoyed 3D cinema at IMAX cinema. Very friendly efficient service. Local goods, produce and crafts for sale. Some lovely shops. Lovely eateries too.

I took my six year old granddaughter to the 'Discovery Centre', the only things that we discovered were over priced shops and cafes. There is an outside play area for older children and a ball pool area for the younger ones, both chargeable. There is a cinema which 'occasionally' shows a film. If you are passing bob in put don't... More

Neat little mall underground with some lovely products. Everything about this place seemed over priced from the books to the food to having to PAY to use the outdoor playground... Like really?! While we where there we paid 3 pounds and my daughter got to hold an owl. Which was defiantly the most memorable thing from our rheged visit. I... More
