Bit of a tourist trap but served its purpose on a wet and windy bank holiday

Upstairs cafe seemed reasonably priced, could do with more serving staff and another till. 'Outdoor' shop - overpriced rubbish.

There's plenty of parking, the site is wheelchair accessible and the venue has lots to keep the children entertained as well as the adults and it's a nice place to meet friends over a coffee or a meal.

it is a useful stopover I will admit but seems entirely designed to fleece tourists. We gave up trying to find a cup of coffee even- everything was too chichi. I suspect it's nto doing as well as it was at the beginning

Took my grandsons, aged 3 and 6, for a visit. They thoroughly enjoyed the fort and the treasure hunt. Even though the little one can't write yet, he had a great time looking for the sheep clues and scribbling in the squares on the "treasure map"! Both loved the painting area and the soft play. Very family orientated - well... More

It was a wet morning and this place was great for spending a couple of hours in. Kids and adults are kept happy here! I like the family atmosphere.

They have some good shows on, a cinema, galleries, and a mix of activities, everything has to be paid for even the kids' craft area and the outside play area. Odd layout and not very well sign posted inside (lecture theatre is directed as upstairs into the 3D cinema area but is actually down a level from the reception area... More

stopped off for a couple of hours, meeting brother and his family (5 kids with us altogether aged 8 - 14). Good play area for them to muck about in, but you have to pay £1.50 per person which is a bit unusual. We had some of the local ice cream - on my goodness, it was good. We tried... More

We thought it was a service station for the last few years until we went today to have a look round after speaking to someone on the Seasons campus at Whitbarrow. There's a 3d cinema, shops and cafes and today there was a demonstration of wild life with three owls as well as a couple of great displays. Now we... More

Comes with a good pedigree of awards but a rather unusual environment tbh. An eclectic mix of petrol station, cafes (of mixed quality), childrens play area, conference centre, exhibition spaces and numerous shops in random places. Not an unpleasant experience, but trying and not succeeding, to be 'all things to all men', and I was left wondering why it was... More

We went to see a ballet which we enjoyed. Never been to the place but had driven past it, bit quirky but interesting. Some interesting shops and bough some good food items. Have some good stuff on so worth a look to see what's n when in the area.
