Picked up an excellent leaflet at Keswick Tourist Office. Place is difficult to find however. Go along A^^ (west bank of Bassentthwaite and just as you get to the far end of the Lake, before Dubwath village, take a minor road to the left signed "Pheasant Hotel". “Missing Birds!”

Visited in both July and October. The walkways are well laid out and it's easy to follow. Unfortunately , not sure if it was because of the months we visited, there was a dearth of wildlife.On the hanging feeders we saw finches but no sign of any other life. A pity, because otherwise it's a pleasant 40/45 stroll. More
