Came to Keswick specifically to visit theatre as I had been meaning to do so for years. So three plays very well done. Good sandwiches in the cafe. All the volunteers who carry out front of house duties were very friendly and happy to talk about the theatre. Only thing missing, a restaurant which I understand is planned. They do... More

My wife and I attended "A Comedy of Errors" on August 1st and enjoyed the performance. The olde English dialogue threw me for a while but I eventually got used to it. The cast performed flawlessly and the play was hysterical. The theatre is relatively new and there is not a bad seat in the house. We purchased the reasonably... More

We saw a comedy of errors by shakespeare here with front row seats. The cast did an amazing interpretation. and the venue being on the lake really doesnt exploit its natural beauties. But once you finish your show, you can leave most likely in the pouring rain, and go for a walk down to the lake to feed the ducks... More

Great show, well worth a watch. Tickets are a little pricy but i guess that is accentuated by the area.

The Theatre by the Lake has a beautiful setting, and a very large stage. I was part of a production, and was very impressed with the staging and its facilities. However food and drink was rather expensive even for soft drinks!!

Really enjoyed watching this production of Dracula. Performances were really captivating and mesmerising at times - although sometimes a little overdone. Great seats right at the back of the theatre - I usually like to be right at the front in amongst it, but was nice for a change and my partner preferred it. Theatre staff were helpful and friendly.... More

A very enjoyable performance with the only big down side being the length of it - 1/2 hour less and it would have been perfect. For a while in the latter half it kind of lost it's way which is where it might have been worth chopping 30 mins from. The individual performances were at times mesmeric and completely absorbing... A repertory theatre - this theatre is completely manned by enthusiastic volunteers. The acting was a trifle overdone - but also done with enthusiasm and raised much laughter. The set was extraordinarily detailed and well constructed and the little theatre production a delightful - and unexpected - interlude to our holiday.

Theatre experience great as usual. The production gets a little lost in the last 15 minutes but was still good overall

A farce that was far too slow to be humorous and a performance of Dracula that was bordering on the comic and went on, and on, and on. Truly wish I had left at the interval and done something useful, like rearrange my sock drawer. It cannot be fair to the actors to make such a poor choice of raw... More
