This is a wonderful little theatre situated by the banks of Derwentwater. Not only do they put on several plays during the year but they also have a Literary Festival, Jazz Festival, mountain Festival, Christmas Play/Pantomime, etc at set times of the year. The plays are usually very different with a choice to suit most tastes and prices are very... More

I have visited this theatre on a number of occasions. Its modern, comfortable and situated in a great location beside Derwent Water. I was however really disappointed on my last visit. I went to see a matinee performance of Rookery Nook which I believed to be a farce. The front 2 rows of the theatre were filled with children of... More

Dear Visitor, I’m sorry to hear that your enjoyment of the performance you attended of Rookery Nook was affected by the presence of a group which included some young children. The group in question were making a special trip to the theatre as part of our outreach programme. The programme provides opportunities for disadvantaged groups from West Cumbria to attend... More

This little theatre has a real buzz to it. We only get to go when in The Lakes on holiday but we book for seats as soon as we know we are in the area. It is smart and the staff/volunteers are friendly. We have seen plays here and last night Pam Ayres, who was very funny. A great night... More

I recently went to a matinee performance of Shakespeare's 'A Comedy of Errors' and the performance was absolutely brilliant - really well paced and very well done as a comedy. There wasn't anybody in the audience not laughing by the end! The theatre itself is lovely (although not much leg space in the stalls!), however I would eat elsewhere in... More

Our first trip to this theatre which is modern, comfortable - Cooke row 16 if you want extra leg room. It was the last night of the Shakespeare play this season the set was fantastic the cast energetic and apart from the unexpected need for one cast member to complete the whole performance on crutches I have to say that... We regularly attend plays, farces and music concerts at this wonderful little theatre in Keswick. There isn't a bad seat in the house, always a superb acting company in residence and good for music as well as plays. The Christmas productions are always of he highest quality, Railway children two years ago was stunning. We have been attending events there... More

Went for lunch yesterday. Choices of toppings for jacket potato do not include beans and I find that very poor, maybe beans are below their assumed superior level. Soup and jacket potato for me, jacket with cheese for my wife. Thirty minutes after paying 20 pounds for the above, with tea and latte too, we got a hot bowl of... More

Dear Visitor, Thank you for your review. We’re very sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with your experience of our café. Whilst we used to offer beans as a topping for our jacket potatoes, the demand from our customers was incredibly low, so much so that we no longer offer it as an option. We do however review customer... More

We have been to this delightful little theatre twice now, and have been very impressed on both occasions. This time it was Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors, and wow what a show! High energy, tremendous pace, fantastically funny and wholly professional throughout. It was so well done that I often forgot it was Shakespeare. If you want to introduce your... More

I have been going to see at least one play a year for some years at this lovely little theatre. There is a good and varied selection of plays, including some in a smaller 'studio' and a Family Play at pantomime season. Visibility is very good, from the main seats, I have not tried the ones at the side but... More
