My missus had a thing for archery since we tried it at a festival the year earlier so as we were away for her birthday staying nearby in Penrith I booked this as a birthday surprise which was quite fortuitous as it rained that day which limits your options in the lake district. This was run in a barn by... More

Hello and thank you for the great review. I will let Sam know you enjoyed the archery session with him and come and try Ghyll Scrambling next time: no green tights but you may need to wear a bear suit !?! More

Stopped in here to allow our 12 year old son have a go at bouldering. The place is clean and tidy with plenty of staff around, who were attentive to what was going off and ensuring that toddlers didn't wander beneath people climbing overhangs who were likely to fall on them. Refreshments were from vending machines which was OK, but... More

Hello, and thank you for the great review. I am glad your family enjoyed the bouldering and next time, come for a family climbing lesson and learn how to belay as well as climb. Once you are deemed safe belaying, you can stay and climb for the rest of the day at no extra cost ~ that's not too bad a... More

Our son and his mates really enjoyed the challenge of the wall and the location of the farm alongside the Castlerigg Stone Circle made it an easy place to find - just off the A66.

We booked a session kayaking on Derwentwater as a treat for a birthday. We highly recommend it. The best views of the lake are definitely from the middle of it - the sun was shining and the water was so calm! Our instructor was brilliant, he tried out a few games to build our confidence on the water, and we... More

Hello, and thank you for your great review. I am pleased that you had such a good time kayaking with us. We always try to make a journey to the islands or play some games when kayaking as well as teaching basic technique and going over safety procedure. Jumping in at the end is not compulsory but its great fun... More

This centre is well run and well organised. They applt all the necessary safety rules etc without being heavy handed or burdensome. There is equipment to hire and this all looked to be of fairly typical mid range stuff. There is a really good variety of wall types and routes and a decent bouldering room. I would recommend this for... More

Heather our lesson leader was fantastic. We had an hours 1:1 tuition as we arrived quite early. from start to finish it was well organised and the training allowed us to then spend another few hours climbing by ourselves as we'd mastered the basics. For £15 per person we thought this was good value. Thanks Keswick climbing wall - keep... More

A friend and I went for a kayaking morning with Sam from Keswick Climbing Wall recently. We both had a great time - lots of fun and good value as only the two of us in the group. The centre provided cagouls, buoyancy jackets and fleeces as it was a cold day. We were then driven from the climbing wall... More

We signed up for the archery as it was an activity we all wanted to do. Billed as a 1 hour session it turned out to be around half an hour of archery with lots of time watching others do it - the bigger the group the less time you send doing it yourself. Obvious really if you think about... More

Kids went out on the high ropes course - only 3 of them with one instructor who was great with them - they had 2 hours of climbing/ swinging/ jumping followed by an hour on the indoor climbing walls - given that they ranged in age from 15 down to 9, they all had a really good time despite the...
