Visited in February 2014. Excellent climbing/bouldering walls. Very helpful staff. Well worth a visit.
This centre is well run and well organised. They applt all the necessary safety rules etc without being heavy handed or burdensome. There is equipment to hire and this all looked to be of fairly typical mid range stuff. There is a really good variety of wall types and routes and a decent bouldering room. I would recommend this for... More
Heather our lesson leader was fantastic. We had an hours 1:1 tuition as we arrived quite early. from start to finish it was well organised and the training allowed us to then spend another few hours climbing by ourselves as we'd mastered the basics. For £15 per person we thought this was good value. Thanks Keswick climbing wall - keep... More
A friend and I went for a kayaking morning with Sam from Keswick Climbing Wall recently. We both had a great time - lots of fun and good value as only the two of us in the group. The centre provided cagouls, buoyancy jackets and fleeces as it was a cold day. We were then driven from the climbing wall... More
We signed up for the archery as it was an activity we all wanted to do. Billed as a 1 hour session it turned out to be around half an hour of archery with lots of time watching others do it - the bigger the group the less time you send doing it yourself. Obvious really if you think about... More
Kids went out on the high ropes course - only 3 of them with one instructor who was great with them - they had 2 hours of climbing/ swinging/ jumping followed by an hour on the indoor climbing walls - given that they ranged in age from 15 down to 9, they all had a really good time despite the... We went to the climbing wall last week and had a great laugh! My wife had never climbed before and it was years since I'd tried it so had a lesson which was top draw good instruction and friendly! Then had access to climb as much as we wanted! I would say it was great value for money and a... More
Hadn't booked, just turned up. Options explained to us. It was just the kids that wanted to try this. Staff member I dealt with informative, knowledgeable and very approachable. Safety aspects covered satisfactorily. Premises large and airy, clean and pleasant, parking and access excellent. Great views. Can't think of any negatives. Will definitely go again.
We visited as a group for a university trip, on first impressions it was small, remote and really designed for a one off experience. Our first impression weren't far wrong, the walls were small height wise, and lacked imagination with regards to route setting, though we were only there as a uni group to practice a few things and to... The wall is not very high and is not as good as the old wall in Keswick. It has really been designed for groups and all the routes are top roped. The bouldering area is ok but can be busy in the summer months. The staff are friendly and helpful. It is a good place to experience climbing for the... More
