We visited the Beatrix potter museum on a rather wet day. It took us about 40 minutes to go round we could have spent longer I suspect but our oldest was speeding through the rooms. Its very interesting place to visit with a lot to learn about Ms potter. My only issue is the cost it's raryer expensive and some... More

interesting place in the middle of Hawkshead, the stairs to og upstairs are very narrow, almost claustrophobic, wider ones downstairs. We're members so the price was of no concern to us.

Really enjoyed the gallery. Lovely to see her drawings and books. Current exhibition themed on her holidays in the Lakes and helped in linking her various connections around the whole area..

An interesting place to display the original art work of Beatrix Potter and expand on her life story and the contributions of other BP sites.

Loved seeing the place where Beatrix worked in the solicitors office. Good room to room gallery of her work, paintings and sketches. Brilliant interactive slide shows of her collections, children will enjoy this computerised activity. Very small inside and can get guite crowded so don't visit at a peak time. Worth going is a national trust member and you are... More

Amazing to be able to get really close and see the details of the exquisite drawings. A happy re-visit to childhood memories.

Fascinating to see the original pictures. Great to have the books around to read during visit. Staff were lovely - about to shut but left us to finish a book rather than hustling us out.

Visited the Beatrix Potter gallery in Hawkshead after touring her home at Hill Top, which provided much relevant background information. The member of staff on ticket duty was extremely helpful and happy to share his extensive knowledge with us before we embarked on the gallery tour. A wonderful building in which to present Beatrix's original paintings. Many of the paintings... More
