The gallery is housed in the office of William Hellis who married Beatrix Potter. Maybe a bit expensive if your not National Trust members. Amazing work by this wonderful lady. Situated in the village which has remained mostly unspoilt. A small gift area off that essential present. Friendly and knowledgable staff.

I was not a fan until I went to this place and I saw the originals. They are absolutely marvelous. The place itself is small but full of history and character.

I visited the gallery as part of an organised tour- but was not told that there is an entrance fee for the gallery as well. The stairs are very steep and narrow but the work on display was generally related to the theme of travel. There are drawings from some of the really famous books but none from books like... More

This 17th century building was once the office of Beatrix Potter's husband, WIlliam Heelis, a local solicitor. It now houses a varying, well-presented exhibition which I found informative and fascinating. Unfrightened by modern technology, the curators have introduced tough screens to take us through some of the Potter treasures and guide the visitor through what it might have been like... More

After seeing Hill Top we went to see the gallery. It was a nice addition. Seeing her drawings and writings was very nice.

The Beatrix Potter Gallery is definitely worth a visit to learn about one of the Lake District celebrated author. I hadn't read here books as a child but knew of the style and character of her books. The exhibition is an intimate and revealing insight into the life and love of Beatrix Potter tastefully and suitably curated expose of her... More

This house is small, with steep and narrow stairs, fortunately for only one floor. There are excellent works on display and very informative. There is information to be sought out by children visiting. Well worth a visit. Parking is readily available and is only a short walk through the shops etc to the gallery.

We went here with a very mixed group, older teens down to tots. Everyone was able to walk around and look at the art and appreciate it in their own way. These works are so lovely and delicate.

The Beatrix Potter Gallery is housed in a building that were the offices of her solicitor husband. But, you need to buy your tickets in a separate building - to the left of the Gallery and on a right angle to it, if I remember rightly. Sawrey is a gorgeous little town and worthwhile visiting in it's own right. I... More
