the café is rubbish and very dirty. Cheap frozen food from the local wholesaler classed as home made. Avoid- staff too young and do not give a monkeys except for the polish? boy- such a shame because the rest of the attraction is fabulous.

We enjoyed an excellent third visit to Grizedale, this time our group was aged 4-70 and there are lots of suitable walks for all. The staff were really helpful recommending a walk for us considering the weather and showed excellent knowledge of all the walks! Cafe was superb and the shops worth a visit, the cafe does get busy, the... More

Grizedale is beautiful forest territory in sight of Coniston Pike (on a clear day, ie not on the day we went). There is a good mix of deciduous and coniferous trees although it still looks like Forestry Commission territory. It is well laid out for both walkers and cyclists with a wide variety of easy to strenuous walks and moderate... More

We visited the cafe yesterday Sunday 31st October and had to wait half an hour for our food. When it came, it consisted of the very cheapest ingredients. The poor staff were clearly rushed off their feet. They were massively understaffed and I know from speaking to others who have eaten here that this is the norm at this place.... More

Grizedale forest centre is a great base for inexperienced Lake District visitors. We hired bikes for 4 hours, the staff were fantastic and helpful, nothing a problem, only warning is even the "green" easy trail is quite hard work for young(9) year olds on child's hired bike. We had tag along and trailer for out other two young children which... More

We hadn't been here for a few years and there is no doubt that now the main purpose of this centre is to make as much money as possible. This was obvious from the extortionate 45p per 20 mins car parking charge ( you could pay £7 if you intended staying longer). The shop was actually completely void of any... More

We have been here about 5-6 times now as we are local. But each visit gets worse and I wonder why we keep returning....maybe because my 3 year old loves the flat 1 mile walk. She used to love turning the keys in the trees, which set off music boxes..with each visit less and less work..only found one working yesterday.... More

Wow, this was an amazing place if you want to do something adventurous and active. This is a forest which allows walks for different abilities, allows mountain bikes for all abilities and If that is not enough there is a zip wire up through the trees. There is even a children's adventure playground. To add to this excitement some interesting... More
