A small museum with an introduction from the guide. It is not only where Wordsworth went to school but has a fascinating history in it's own right - even a link to Mutiny on the Bounty!

Wordsworth studied here before going to Cambridge University. Original desks and benches in part of the school room along with all the old graffiti that the masters allowed.

Great old building in the centre of Hawkshead, shows what a school would have been like 100 years ago, lovely place.

Very interesting place to visit. Small but dripping with history and amazing tales from the gentleman who mans the building.

This sixteenth century school was where Wordsworth spent his school years. Now run as a museum. They still have the desks from when he was there. Worth a look around if you are near Hawksheàd village. Admission £2.50, £1.50 for over 60s.

Kids got away with murder in those days! Carving into furniture, drinking beer, smoking and cock fighting all allowed! The guide was very helpful and chatty.

A very knowledgeable guide who gave us a history of the school including the Wordsworth connection. Fascinating to hear how they taught 70 boys in one room. well worth going for a visit and good value at £2.50.
