The Herdy Shop is fab!

I visited the Herdy Shop in February this year and purchased a few items, one for them was a Herdy mug. When I got it home and made a cuppa in it I realised it had a crack in it... read more

I visited the shop today to pick up an umbrella and sheep for a friend and wanted to pick up a mug for myself for work. I noticed on the website that seconds are available but unfortunately the shop in Grasmere is too small to hold seconds. So i left a little disappointed as i didn't Treat myself to a... More

It's a small shop selling sheep stuff. It's not an attraction or, if it is, it might suggest you did not do your research too well! Recommended length of visit? 3-4 minutes.

This is a wonderful little shop in the centre of Grasmere. We were starting our walk from the Rothay Garden Hotel and could not resist the colourful scarves in the window. They are made from locally sourced wool and beatifully made, and we returned the next day to buy a large woolen blanket and cushions for the sofas. The shop... More

Herdy is a firm favourite of mine - i've been back 4 years in a row now - always something quirky to catch the eye. Not cheap as others have commented but well worth a mooch and you'll definitely enjoy the experience. Have also been to the Keswick store - bit bigger - but similar stock. Staff always friendly and... More

Clean tidy shop. Not cheap but quality merchandise and the company supports herdwick farmers and farms.

The colours area striking, that's what's attract me into the shop. They sell mugs, tea towels, blankets and 100% knitting wool, all in those attractive colours. A part of their profit goes to projects, such as keeping the bridle ways open, etc… I'm certainly going back next time I'm in Grasmere, and I certainly can recommend this shop.

Great place to shop if you like sheep! Everything you could wish for for the sheep lover. I especially liked the knit your own herdy back pack or the big umbrellas. Also available on line. Just a little expensive!

We stopped in on the day of the Grasmere Sports festival last autumn and had a wonderful experience. The young lady working that day was very nice and went out of her way to help us. I just wish that I had remembered to post a review sooner. We live in the US so dropping by for a quick fix... More
