We visited from Whitley Bay on Fri 15th Aug after several visits to Coniston decided to book up for a trek. The original day we wanted to book was full but the friendly staff put on an extra trek for us. My son Zack (8yrs) was a little nervous at first but soon loved the trek. My daughter who is... More

Above is the description from my 11 year old who went trekking yesterday for one hour. There was only one space left on the trek so she went without knowing anyone else. She was made very welcome and had a great time. I was entirely confident because the seven trekkers were accompanied by four staff from the farm. Much safer... More

I would rate our pony trekking session with Spoonhall Farm an outstanding Lakeland experience. My 4 children ranged from 7-12 years and were really keen to try this out. After reading one previous review I was keen to ensure it would be safe for them as we are all total beginners. I can only speak for my experience and I... More

My son and daughter-in-law and their two children were in a party of seven on horseback, with some walking attendants, on 3 July 2014. Something startled the animals and they all bolted. Six of the riders were thrown, including all of my family. My granddaughter sustained a fractured humerus, my grandson was bruised and shaken, my daughter-in-law suffered severe muscular... More

Did this yesteray with my family and can honestly say we all had a ball. Coniston fells are stunning and the trek is not for the faint hearted but the family make sure everyone is ok and we felt safe and looked after at all times. We were out for much longer than an hour and it was definitely value... More

We went on an hour treck during May half term. We are a family with 11 yr old and 8 yr old that have never been on a pony before. Both the staff and ponies were very friendly! It was such a lovely introduction to riding with beautiful views of Coniston lake. Would recommend.

Kids have asked for a horse ride so we got to this lovely farm on the lakes. The staff are very friendly and told us many local stories through the trip, which made it even better. We called to order and payment is in cash

We visited Spoon Hall in the easter break having driven past the sign loads of times on the way into coniston. The farm is family run and everyone was so nice and friendly and spent a lot of time reassuring our children. We went for the 1 hour tre which was more than enough for us, as we all had... More

My friends and I recently booked an hour trekk, we had such a wonderful day. The family who run the trekk were so friendly, and had some very interesting things to tell us along the way, with plenty of local history thrown in too! The horses were a pleasure to ride, very happy and calm, which was reassuring as all... More

I took my two nine year olds who have some experience of riding here whilst on holiday in the Lakes and it was amazing. The staff were very friendly and very safety conscious and the ponies were very well behaved. The trek didn't start until everyone was safely saddled up and then we were on our way. We enjoyed amazing... More
