Lots to see in this small museum with plenty of information in folders as well as some audiovisual displays. Staff were very friendly & informative you can get around the whole museum in a couple of hours. There is no on site parking but it is only a short walk from the main car park. We really enjoyed this museum... More

The museum was small but very informative, comes in three rooms, One part about Ruskin, one on Donald Campbell and the final room is pictures/drawing on Donald Campbell. £6 entry free not to bad. Well worth a visit

For a local museum in a fairly small town, this is exceptional both in the quality of the collections and the presentation.I'm old enough to remember when this was a small but very interesting unmanned museum accessed through a coin operated turnstile, it's now greatly expanded and shows off its collections excellently. There are galleries of local history, about Arthur... More

We travelled across on the lake from Coniston. Great scenery (subject to the weather!!!) Enjoyed visiting the Bluebird and Ruskin displays as well as local craft sheds. Then became Mary Poppins at the outside tables at the cafe - lovely cakes (Clue - " feed the birds")

If this delightful place isn't on your itinerary, then it's well worth squeezing it in. Small but packed with great stuff from local (pre-) history and culture to a great display on Bluebird to a thoughtful and fascinating insight to Ruskin's life and works - possibly the best £6's worth in the Lakes. My better half and I loved it... More

Small but very informative museum. The Bluebird, or the remains of it, or given pride of place in this museum & rightly so. As the museum was fairly small we were able to look at everything on offer instead of becoming bored from large amounts of information to take in.

A really great local museum dealing with Coniston itself and its people and surroundings - its adopted famous people like Donald Campbell and John Ruskin. So much to see and read. A visit really needs to be well planned and perhaps take in lunch at one of fine local cafes, restaurants and hotels. A remarkable lovely museum in a terrific... More

A real Dr Who's Tardis of a building, housing a fantastic array of information, memorabilia, artefacts, historical and geological histories of Coniston. The museum houses information about the copper mining history of Coniston, A brilliant Donald Campbell section with many artefacts of the Blurbird record attempts including parts of bluebird recovered from the lake (along with Campbell's remains in 2001...
