Good god! I've never seen so many barrels of beer in one place. A Rather strange token system (Exchange £££ for tokens for beer). Seemed to work out ok and they were happy to exchange unused tokens back to £££ which was great. Some very quality beers on offer - happy to offer 'tasters' and served in ⅓, ½ and... More

During a family holiday during half term week we took a ride on the Spa Valley railway from Groombridge to Tunbridge Wells and back. In our group there were 6 children aged up to 5 years and they loved the train complete with Hallowe'en decorations and buffet. At Tunbridge Wells station we met two witches in their witches lair where... More

Went to the CAMRA beer and cider festival in the train shed. Not only an opportunity to taste some excellent ales but also a chance to get up close to the trains. I'd recommend this event if you like trains and beer. But obviously not if you're a train driver on duty!

We booked this for our 3 year old who is 'Thomas' mad & also took our eldest son who is 8yrs. We had a fantastic few hours riding steam engines, watching punch & Judy, having faces painted & temporary tattoos plus meeting & riding on Thomas himself of course! Sir Topham Hat aka the Fat Controller posed for pictures &... More

This was a trip to see Thomas with a 15 month old baby boy (a big fan of Thomas already !) What a brilliant time we had !! Firstly we booked on-line and was amazed at how reasonable the tickets were .We were greeted by the Station Master as soon as we arrived and made to feel really welcome .... More

This is one of themost friendliest Heritage Railway that I have come across in a small area of East Sussex. As one who does not drive and relies on public transport, this is easy to get to on public trainsport from any area. this railway offers lots of events for children, families and railway enthusiasts alike. it also offers hands... Really wanted to visit the only Kent steam line I have not traveled on. All of the comments about the staff being friendly are true and this is a nice little trip. However the idea of this input is that one is honest. The timetable leaflet stated that 12th September was a special date and we decided to have a... More

Dear Martin, Thank you very much for your review, and for coming to visit us. You make a number of very valid observations, and personally speaking I am kicking myself that we haven't addressed all of them already. To take your points in turn: There is no excuse for not clearly displaying amended "special" timetables at High Rocks - I... More

What a lovely experience! Fantastic staff, most of whom are volunteers, nothing is too much trouble. Beautiful ride pulled by steam train through the countryside and fantastic three course meal served by courteous and polite staff . I expected the drinks on board to be expensive but was surprised to find out they were not. Bar on board one of... More

Really nice experience. A pleasant short journey with lovely views and friendly staff. The ticket is quite cheap so you get a nice experience at a very affordable price.
