Visited this railway in the summer of 2015. What I can say is that the line length is pretty good and the train they used was nicely presented, the train journey we took started at Eridge and finished at Tunbridge Wells right next to a supermarket. Once we got off at Tunbridge there was very little to do and I... More

Dear Max, Thank you for coming to visit us, and for taking the time to write a review. Although I'm pleased you consider us to be quite well-known - we undeniably suffer from low awareness in our market demographic - I must say I'm a little disappointed that despite the plus points that you listed of having a nicely presented... Back to another familiar attraction, the Spa Valley. Since 1999, I have been visiting the railway and have always been impressed by the events held and regular days, giving a good excuse to get out of the house. With the mixture of Steam Diesel and Diesel-Electric trains there, it is certainly presents a great day out behind a variety to... More

I took my 15 month old, my friend and my 3 year old godson and we had a wonderful time! Booked quite far in advance (October) so presume this is why we got our own compartment. It was so worth it. We arrived with pushchairs (be aware that you will need to fold them as access on the train is... More

Santa Special: a wonderful and magical experience for all the family, young and old, with a few nice treats along the way (more than we imagined). The attraction is way better than any other Santa’s grotto we’ve visited. I won’t say anymore as don’t want to give anything away. The staff were amazing. The experienced lasted approx. 2hrs. Take your... More

The volunteer staff at the Spa Valley Railway have yet again given our family a fantastic day to enjoy. Of all the events we attend throughout the year at the Spa, the Santa Special is the ultimate experience for us all. The planning and execution of this event is superb every year and we would like to thank all the... More

They supplied mulled wine biscuits minced pies colouring books and a on board competition. We visit four or five times a year for a variety of events from a Day Out With Thomas to the Teddybears picnic and the Santa Special. Each is fantastically run by very enthusiastic volunteers. These amazing volunteers are what make the railway so special - they can't do enough to help you. The trains are fantastic and it is... More

Well, what a fantastic trip. We went with our son/fiancée and grandson for the Santa Special for the 2nd year. Brilliant yet again. Staff very friendly and helpful. Gifts for children are good quality. Balloon modeller is fun and happy to make just about anything and the ladies on the drinks trolley were very jolly. Buffet cars were very nice... More

Good god! I've never seen so many barrels of beer in one place. A Rather strange token system (Exchange £££ for tokens for beer). Seemed to work out ok and they were happy to exchange unused tokens back to £££ which was great. Some very quality beers on offer - happy to offer 'tasters' and served in ⅓, ½ and... More
