Great micro pub

Looked in briefly and found 3 good beers on. Landlord very friendly and just wish it was next to our house at home. Wonderful!

A genuinely superb example of a micropub. Colin, an avuncular advocate of good beer, sells 3 different beers, straight from the cask, along with real cider and wine. Don't expect to get lager here. Its as welcoming as any bar I know - the regulars all say hello when you walk in and its almost impossible not to get drawn... More

A lovely friendly pub where you are made very welcome by the landlord Colin. The beers and ciders are traditionally managed and always served in a perfect condition. If you wish to try somewhere different the Conqueror is a unique experience not to be missed. Colin also serves wines and juices.

Fabulous little pub with great real ales. How pubs used to be before they lost their way. Lovely landlord who takes pains to make everyone welcome.

This has fast become our favourite local watering hole since it opened a couple of years ago, and we usually go once a week at least. It's a friendly, relaxed little place, well run with good beers and ciders (with wine also available). As a female, it's nice to be able to say that I would happily go there on... More

Excellent example of the 'micropub' genre. Three well-kept real ales (gravity dispense), real cider, and wine too. No lagers. Food-wise, tasty artisan pork pies and quality local cheeses are just about the limit, excellent accompaniments to the quality drink on offer. No lager, muzak or gaming machines - just a friendly welcome, conversation and quality drink at reasonable prices. Great... More

Small and intimate pub. No music, no slot machines or tv. Lovely just people talking and enjoying each others company. Excellent choice of real ales. Now camra south east region pub of the year. Highly recommend it.

A lovely pub serving real ales, in excellent condition, and wines and cider. Small and cosy, certainly somewhere to strike up a conversation with those around you. Sells bar snacks. A good idea to check out the online blog before attending for details of opening times and available ales.
