4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2014 NEW

Went for the day in June for a sunbathe and lunch. Had to park by the harbour which was a hassle as the machine was broken and had to pay by mobile phone and card. Walked to the beach past some quirky restaurants and cafes and a fish and chip shop. Nice new sun loungers on the beach and there... More

Spent 4 nights in lovely apartment at 1 Granville Marina in early July. So disappointed that the backdrop to the main beach was so run down with an abandoned building site behind wooden hoardings and derelict pavilion. In spite of notices banning dogs on the beach the locals were allowing their dogs to roam on the beach and foul on... More

We really like this beach it's big and when the tide is out you can walk around to a little cove which is never busy. The main sands can get very busy so best avoided during peak season. There are many great places to eat, Peters being one place, fantastic fish and chips. The harbour is great with lots of... More

The sand has been put back on the beach and the place is looking lovely again. The lift down to the beach is operating again - make sure if you use this facility that you observe what time it will be closed as it can vary according to the cafe who care for it.

Only spent a short while here and Ramsgate had a music event on which meant the beach had loads of drinkers and littered the place. least i got some chips and ate them looking at the beach. If it wasn't for that, it's a nice beach, you can buy coffee/drinks/food very near to it.

I live in Ramsgate and while this review may be a little biased, I do like it. It is good for the summer and whatever kind of weather situation you're in the beach is good photographically. There is always rubbish on the beach and the council always say they're cleaning it and you only need to walk past to see... More

I chose to live here so I must love it, and I do - there is nothing better than playing in the sand with your children. These are golden memories of my own childhood and my life with my now older children, and my current younger family. The buckets spades and ice creams are all here. But I would advise... More

We visited the beach twice during our week long stay. Once on a sunny day; there were a few brave souls having a swim in the sea and families soaking up the sunshine. There is a sign showing that the water quality is good and that it is safe to swim, but there was a little plastic 'WC' related litter... More
