Dover Museum houses the world's oldest sea going, plank built boat discovered when road works were being carried out nearby. There is a short film outlining the discovery and preseration of the find and also the construction of a replica, also on display, using the original teckniques. The museum also displays well the sort of archeological and local history artifacts... more

This is a really comprehensive museum. The first floor, which is being updated, deals with pre-history and Roman history. The second floor includes recreations of period rooms; it is well done. The third floor is very modern and contains the star of their collection- the Bronze Age boat collected in near entirety from a bog. There is a short movie... more
