deal is a small town along the coast which makes it nice to visit the town. I find that the castle is a bit small, you could not spend the whole day in the castle. when your in the area you could visit walmer castle and enjoy the beach, the pier and the town. people are very friendly and welcoming. more
This was our 3rd castle in the one day and yet the most fascinating. Rather hard audio tour to follow but the castle itself is great to explaore - especially walking along the internal lower bastion wall which goes right the way round! Good parking close by in field just before you get to the castle (easy to over shoot!) more
