We took a ferry back in forth from dover to calais and back and really enjoyed the scenery. The ferry ride takes roughly about 90 minutes. Make sure you look for a good spot to sit with your family because they will go quick especially the views with windows which most people will take first.

We went here on a day trip from London. We stopped at the Battle of Britain Memorial which was being updated with a nice museum dedicated to the heroes of the Battle. It was foggy the day we were there and the fog began lifting before we left so we did get to see the lovely white cliffs. We were... More

Decided to hike up along the white cliffs. It was a nice hike with a rest at the coffee place on the top. I was walking through the cliffs but could not find the spectacular view that I was looking for. Truly enjoyed the hike up the hill. Even saw some graffiti along the way. Detestable but what would you... More

Spent a lovely day walking along the White Cliffs of Dover. Beautiful views, plenty of seats along the walks. Walk to the South Foreland lighthouse - 4 mile round trip then have a cream tea in the cafe. Sit out and watch the busy ferry port fro above fascinating. Plenty of steps taking you further up behind the cafe. Take... More

My boyfriend and I went to Dover by bus and stopped at the ferry because it's the closest stop to the white cliffs. From there we walked until we could, so we passed the lighthouse. Although a lot of people walk along the cliffs, you can take different paths so you don't feel it's too crowded. We took plenty of... More

On a recent trip to London, we were looking for a break to get out of the city and couldn't have made a better choice than a visit to Dover. About a 2 hour train ride from the city, but we chose a late summer day with nothing but blue skies and temps in the low 70's so it was... More

The sea is so beautiful under sunshine, it looked green !! The walk from national trust car park to the lighthouse it quite long and... More

Take a walk from Dover to St Margaret's via the South Foreland Lighthouse across the famous White Cliffs of Dover. It only takes about 40 minutes to the lighthouse from the national trust Car Park. Tea, cakes and snacks available at both ends of the walk.
