This is a National Trust site, so you will need to pay if not a member. There is a very good tea shop. the walks are spectacular and well marked. Even if you don't take the walks it is fascinating to watch the movements of ships and vehicles in the car ferry terminal

obviously if you're in the area this is a MUST to visit....the view is beautiful from there, and it's one of those places to say you've been...I'd not make a special trip tho!

We saw the White Cliffs of Dover on a ferry. There was not history presented or any information about them. We could ask about them, but none was offered. The ferry was very windy, so staying outdoors to see the cliffs was a challenge. A site, but not breathtaking.

Simply breathtaking views! The White Cliffs of Dover are cliffs which form part of the Southern English coastline. Northern France is visible on a clear day! The stunning cliff face reaches up to 350 feet. Its striking facade is composed of chalk and is accentuated by streaks of black flint. The expansive cliffs spread east and west from the town... A sunny day, a walk along the white cliffs to St Margaret's, 2.5 miles, nothing better. Views are brilliant, France is clearly visible. Take a picnic, kite and binoculars, 3.00 to park, so cheap day out. Sun and sea air, nothing better, England is lovely!

The walking trails here are excellent. You can stroll along the cliffs, or farther away. Wildflowers and flowering bushes are nearby. There is a nice cafe and gift shop where you start the trails, restrooms are there also. Lovely to see as you sail into or out of the port. I'd always heard of the White Cliffs of Dover, but... We went to the park on a windy day--and the hiking was a challenge, but the views were amazing. The trip to view the lighthouse isn't for the faint-hearted. The tea room was great for a picnic (since the weather wouldn't accommodate) and a warm coffee.

Majestic cliffs and beautiful views over the busy Dover port. There are few tracks (both short and long) for visitors to take and explore the area.

Our first afternoon visiting South Foreland Lighthouse was in warm sunny weather so the cliffs, the sea and the landscape looked their sparkling best. Skylark song filled the air, the coast of France was clearly visible and the lovely National Trust volunteer guide was happy to take us on a tour at 16:45 in spite of it being near closing... More
