We viewed the cliffs from the sea when returning to Dover port on a cruise ship and they looked absolutely beautiful in the early morning sunlight. We would have liked to have walked the cliff path if we'd had more time in Dover - maybe next time.

The day was very wet & windy. But added to the experience & atmosphere of the visit. Interesting tour, very informative guide. Rare opportunity to see sound mirrors which are in danger of collapse after being uncovered, they were buried for over 70 years which has led to an incredible level of preservation. A must visit site

These are the tunnels dug in WWII as a shelter for the soldiers and NAAFI staff who operated the guns that protected Dover. They have only recently been dug out by the National Trust and give a real feel for the condititions the soldiers lived in. There are also 2 sound 'mirrors' in the cliff face to listen in to... We visited the Fan Bay Deep Shelter on the 25 Aug. We have done the White Cliff walk several times which is excellent, however visiting the Fan Bay shelter is a added bonus. Our guide Robert for the tour was very knowledgeable and did an excellent job as was the lady who provided us with our helmets. Well worth a... More

Lovely walks with beautiful views. You can clearly see the French coastline with its lesser known white cliffs. Take a picnic or snack at the café, and spend the whole day. Small parking fee required.

Spent a couple of hours here today looking over the port of Dover admiring the sea and ferries. Had coffee and cake from the National Trust cafe. Fantastic place to visit. Lovely walks along the cliffs and now you can visit Fan Bay. You can see France on most days but today the rain came in. £3.50 to park your... More

The White Cliffs of Dover is a great sight to see when either leaving or returning to Britain on the Ferry. Best place to take photos are at the rear of the boat on the outside area. We were lucky enough to have good weather sailing to Calais for some good shots.

I never been very close to it but usually I`m seeing it when I cursing from Uk to France or the other way around. You can see the cliffs from far into the sea. It looks so unusual but in the same time very beautiful.
