Having read the negative reviews I was very dubious about going. However, being a few weeks prior to Christmas I thought I'd give it a go hoping it would be a festive experience. How wrong could one be. The main Courtyard was very festive with the Christmas Tree and children from the local school singing carols but that was about... more

I don't think I have ever been anywhere where I have felt so ripped off. We thought it would be entertaining and educational as well having read how much money had been spent on the place. The only active part was the (short) 'river' ride. The rest was fairly ordinary and it certainly was a gloomy place. We've been to... more

I went to the Dickens World at Chatham with my family and had a wonderful day. After reading some of the other reviews I was pleasently suprised with the whole experience. The performances done by the Dickensien charactures were all done well. We watched "Oliver" in the courtyard which gave it such a realistic atmospere. There was plenty of other attractions... more

I visited Dickens' World with my husband, our children aged 5 and 9 and my mother in law. We all loved it. It makes a nice change from the highly commercialised theme parks. At Dicken's world you have fun and at the same time learn something. Please do not listen to the negative reviews. If you are going there expecting... more

I wasn't sure what to expect from Dickens World, but I was not dissapointed. It very much does what it says on the tin in many respects, as you are instantly brought into the cobbled streets of London and indeed Dickens's World. You are greeted by many nods to Dickens, such as "wanted" posters of the hunted Able Magwitch and... more

I recently visited dickens world with my daughter who is 3 and she was so excited to see everyone dressed up in periodic costume, the smells on the ride were excellent. The props and atmospheric settings really made you feel as if you were taken back through time machine and placed in the middle of dickens stories. The skits preformed... more

Dickens World faces the problem of satisfying conflicting expectations, and in my view, manages rather well. Modern hygeine and safety rules would wholly rule out an exact re-creation of Dickensian London - the rats, the sewage, the gin alleys, drunks urinating or worse in corners, the stench, the prostitution, the street swindles and the robberies. But the entire set evokes... more

Visited Dickens World on the 3/9/2009 with my 12 yr old daughter and we both had a wonderful time. Ths staff where friendly and helpful and the place was clean and tidy. We spent over 5 hrs going round and my daughter really enjoyed interacting with the characters and learning about dickens and the victorian times. She especially liked the... more

Went here on Sat 29th August, please read all the other negative reviews as these are pretty spot on! How these people get away with charging what they do is beyond me! This place will not continue to operate unless it improves.Considering the amount of money spent on it i expected much more... more
