A great park with well loved animals. Probably needs some investment

Only 11 miles from Dover castle and as we'd been to Port Lympne we had been told it would cost us £5 each if we show our receipt. The girl on the till wasn't at all pleased as we hadn't been given the vouchers from PL and she wanted to charge us (1 adult, 2 kids) £56. It definitely is... More

I have been to this park several times and it has some truly lovely animals and some great enclosures (perhaps slightly to the detriment of viewing sometimes, but gives the animals some proper habitat - a difficult balance). Lots of primates, elephants and cats and my favourite, rhino. The park has a great release program for the rhino, too. Spent... More

I was given a keeper for the day experience as a present. I chose the cats to spend the day with and it was amazing The day just went too quickly - the keepers made It really special - nothing was too much trouble or question to trivial for our senior keeper - Rick. It really exceeded my expectations and... More

Howletts is a really nice Park to walk around with lots a different animals to see. As ever with Zoos you may not see everything, but we were lucky and got to see most of the animals there. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable as we listened in to a couple of talks. The park is quite large but can... More

We arrived really early and so were treated to the lions having breakfast....or rather one of the lions - the lioness was a bit more pushy and so had the lot. The park has been built around the beautiful mansion which is still private and so, I believe, still used by the Aspinall family. There are a wide variety of... More

Visited yesterday with two teenage children and two grand children. What a lovely day we had. Plenty of parking, no queues for tickets and an added surprise of being given vouchers for a free kids lunch box. We were pleased to see most of the animals out even though a few were sleeping in the hot sunshine. We had no... More

Spent ages here and loved every minute. Some of the animals were asleep but you don't mind watching a dozing tiger! But still had a great time wandering around. kids seemed to be enjoying it - one excited child thought a monkey was a rhino, bless! Plenty of places for refreshments and good to walk around.

This is by far the best zoo I have ever been too (admittedly I haven't seen that many in the past year) but the animals are cared for so beautifully, particularly the Old Gorillas. They have currently been moved into a new enclosure whilst their old one is being deep cleaned! You can see them so closely. The staff are... More
