A good day out. Lots to see, but consider taking your own lunch.

Visited in March, mid week and just before peak season started so we were only one of a handful of visitor groups which made it almost feel like almost private visit. My... read more

Took my daughter here for her 1st birthday. We visited mid week and off peak so it was nice not to have to battle through any crowds. We were lucky to see gorillas, lions, tigers, rhino and elephants, amongst an array of other animals. Most importantly, my daughter loved it as the animals could be viewed quite close up. The... The animals were wonderful and although areas of the grounds need tidying up, the seem very well catered for and lots of space to roam. My disappointment comes from the fumbling around by staff (apparently due to a new till system) where we waited 15 minutes behind just one couple, then some items in the shop would not scan through,... Visited in March, mid week and just before peak season started so we were only one of a handful of visitor groups which made it almost feel like almost private visit. My daughter loved the animals and it's good to be able to get up close to them. Unlike insome zoos, Howletts animals seem to have a lot of space.... More

We visited for my Birthday as I wanted to go sosomewhere I could watch my Son run around, enjoy and learn about animals. We were so disappointed!!!! One of the Gorilla eenclosures was under maintenanc, the other 2 apparently had Gorillas in, but we didn't see an. The Elephants enclosure was also undergoing maintenance, A keeper told us we could... More

Our Family group booked on-line the night before visiting this excellent wildlife park. Having last visited the "Zoo" as it was then,in the late 1980's when John Aspinall going in with the Gorilla's as a main event, we were so pleased to see his legacy has been beautifully preserved and enhanced to create a wonderful rare animal preservation location. Enclosures... More

We visited today with our 2 children 3 yrs and 1 yr. we had a great day. The kids enjoyed it and the weather was good which helped. The only disappointment was the gorilla enclosure was shut for maintenance, however, there was another gorilla enclosure open by the main entrance so we saw some of them. They were getting ready... We won 2 tickets as part of Kents Big Weekend so me and my little girl came. My husband and 2 boys were gonna come too but was going to cost £47 just for them! As a family of 5 your looking at £79! The zoo has a lot of the same to be honest and half the animals never... More

We went in March and it was very cold, but we had a lovely day. Saw lots of animals, the enclosures are big and filled with things to do. The staff are friendly. We will definitely be going back in the summer.

We called in for the afternoon on my wife's birthday, what a treat! Lots of animals, super cafe and beautiful clean enclosures. If we lived closer we would defiantly buy an annual pass.

The advantage to Howletts is that there's always something new to see. I live in Canterbury and myself and a friend have our year long tickets (£20 I think they were). We go once every few months on a sunny day. We've seen them feed the gorillas, the wild dogs, the lions, we've nearly been peed on by the rhinoceros... More
