Visiting at the end of the day is a good move here. We turned up at 3. Last entry is 4.30. Closes at 6. You'd think that would make it a rush. It isn't. The animals are as ever amazing. The up close experience with the Gorillas makes London Zoo look feeble. As does the view of Tigers, Lions, Rhino... More

Visited with family when staying in nearby Whitstable and was hugely impressed. The animals are so close in open areas or cages and the focus on conservation is heartwarming. The variety is great with big cats, elephants, rhinos and lots of apes (large and small) plus lots of other animals. Our kids did the Treetops Challenge and that is well... More

A wonderful animal park, where it's obvious the animals are really loved and cared for by all the staff. A really great place to see many fascinating species.

I went to Howletts with my girlfriend as we had just moved to the local area. When we arrived the grounds were maintained well but we're in need of more colour and refurbishing. When we walked around the park a high amount of the animals were either sleeping or not to be seen in the enclosures ( completely understand that... More

A good day out for all ages! We went with our grandson, of nearly 3, who did a good job of walking nearly all the way round, his parents and aunty. This was broken up into chunks by stopping for a coffee, a play in the children's area and we sat for over an hour watching the antics of the... More

Had such a lovely day. Very lucky almost all the animals where out in the glorious sunshine. Quite a few baby monkeys and deer. It's been a long time since my last visit and they have made a few changes. Last visit a lot of the cages where so overgrown you had no chance of seeing anything. They seem to... More

A super family day out, three adults and two children. We arrived quite early in the morning which gave us time to wander around whilst it was still quiet. Elephants, Tigers and Gorillas were probably the highlights. My little grandson on looking for the fishing cat enquired where the fishing rod was! (he is only three) The food on offer... More

Visited Howletts Zoo while staying in Whitstable at the weekend. We visted as family, and purchased the annual passes as will return, and tis makes it good value for money. The Zoo looked well looked after, and we were able to see many of the aninmals up close. The gorillas were fascinating, we could have stayed there for ages watching... More

Nice way to spend a sunny afternoon. Plenty of free parking and due to the size of the park it never felt crowded. The enclosures are designed for the animals comfort, which is how it should be, so patience may be needed for some of the animals to show themselves. Food was the usual fare and not too ridiculously over... More
