Excellent show. Amazed at how many of the show's cast were top names from the London show and well known from other shows or TV/films. The theatre itself is every bit as good and the London venues. Only downside was that we could not get a seat in the restaurant even over an hour before the show. Probably our fault... More

Just back from the opening night of TOP HAT and feeling overwhelmed by the sheer professionalism of the performances. Music, Dancing, Costumes, Colour all added up to an incredible experience so just coming down now! Do go - seize the opportunity while the musical is on here - you won't be sorry. Must also comment on the brilliant cameo performances,... More

Well done to the Marlowe for bringing Top Hat to Canterbury. It was so entertaining, feel good and fun! Definitely go and see it if you can! I was fortunate enough to have front row seats which made the experience even more fun, especially seeing the orchestra working hard. Overall, a wonderful and very enjoyable show at a fantastic theatre!

Took my wife to the theatre as a surprise, Top Hat 🎩 was an excellent production, superb dancing and singing. My only concern was the lack of leg room, actually came away in agony.

I quite agree with the review condemning the booking system. I have tried several times to book seats online but the bookings are rejected as the rows appear to be even numbers of seats so they will not sell single tickets, even though there are hundreds of empty seats available. I had thought to become a Friend of the Marlowe... More

Excellent show at the Malowe, Top Hat was fab and so cool that the lead was from the town. Malowe has reasonable access for the disabled and elderly, but having to get up regularly to let people past to their seats wasn't ideal for my parents. The lift was also very busy and we had to wait a fair while.... More

I have visited this theatre on various occasion. The shows have always been quite good. But as they are "imported" the theatre itself have little to do with their standard as they just book them in. On the other hand the theatre itself is a bit of a nightmare. Booking seats is almost impossible. I have waited 20 minutes for... More

They made a dark haunting play , humorous and family friendly.Great sea shanty and the dance sequences were hilarious.. Loved it. The characters were very well portrayed. The staging was quite dark and the opening scenes were eerie. However as the tale unfolded and the characters shone through it had the audience gripped with anticipation. Another excellent show at The... More

Great tribute singers - sounded very true to the original. However did think they could have more interesting lighting to enhance the show. The real disappointment was that, as we were sitting near the back of the Upper Circle, all the projection pictures were only half visible - the real Simon and Garfunkel were headless most of the time !... The Marlowe books some great acts and musicals and I think we are so lucky to have such a great theatre in Canterbury. People moan about the design but I personally think the mix of new and old is great design in Canterbury.
