Of course the westgate and the gardens are wonderful in the daytime, but at night , the lighting is superb and brings out the medieval town much better. Enjoy!

In the shadow of the Westgate Towers, this is a lovely space. Punts sail on the river and well tended flowers displays make this a pleasant place to visit.

fabulous manicured park with glorious river flowing through it. perfect for a picnic on the bank with your feet dangling near the water. There can be a few drunks about but they are harmless and hide in a group to themselves.

We visited on the first warm and sunny day of the year. The blossom was coming out on trees, the daffs and violets were out and the river walkway was busy with strollers - a sheer delight.

The Friends of the Westgate Parks are really transforming a nice place to visit into a very beautiful and pleasant place to visit. A calendar of events has been published outlining numerous activities for all the family throughout the year. Great place with a lot of history.
