The perfect place to relax away from the hub bub of the city centre which is just a stone's throw away. The gardens look beautiful in the Spring with the river Stour flowing through. Take a picnic and chill.

Well tended gardens beside the river. Nice and peaceful only a few minutes away from the busy town centre.

This is a great place to walk through and pass time, watching the World go by, having the odd picnic, sitting by the river, etc. The only problem is that recent works to restore previous Edwardian/Victorian features have destroyed some of the character in terms of the trees and shrubbery. Not enough thought was given preserving some of it's innate... More

Never found this before, well worth a walk, it was nice when chilly but would be great in the summer, Also of note, access to the Italian campaign memorial.

What's not to like?!! Especially now that toddlers cove play area has been improved. A great place to go for picnics! Love the river Stour running through it. It's a wonderful haven to have in the middle of a city.

Walk along the paths or rest in the gardens. Go about a quarter of a mile and under the bridge is a children's play area. If you like walking you can walk along a river path to chartham a nice village with a pub. A short bus ride will bring you back to Canterbury. .

Definitely worth a walk by the river and looking back into the town. There is a children's playground area. Although I went whilst it was still cold, it would be a lovely place to have a picnic in the summer.

Good green space away from the hubbub of the high street. The gardens are well kept and the river is usually free of rubbish.

When in bloom, well worth a visit. Take a picnic, and just relax, we do, can't wait for our return visit. Louis B

Beautifully kept gardens. Tranquil and nice to get away from the hussle and bussle. It's nice any time of the year.
