A really lovely setting for a nice walk, with the chance to go up onto the City walls with lots of period houses around.

On this trip it was bright and sunny and the walk was delightful. I have also done this walk in February early morning fog and it provided some wonderful photographic opportunities.

For locals and visitors alike this is a wonderful, beautiful location providing a riverside walk and linked cycle paths that would be the envy of many cities. The planting is superb and colourful and the Parks section of the Council should be rightly proud of their efforts. There are areas to sit and picnic and tiny bridges criss cross the... More

This riverside park (next to the medieval Westgate tower) is a pleasant place to relax away from the High Street. The path through the grounds leads to "Toddlers Cove" -- an excellent children's playground. You could also start from here and walk a path near the River Stour a few miles to the village of Chartham -- and beyond! (Details... More

Pretty, nice little stroll. Full of people on sunny days, which is nice to see people getting out and about. Worth a visit just to see the greener side of Canterbury!

I've been coming to Canterbury for years but have never been to the Westgate gardens. I accidently found them on a cycle ride (Route 18) to Canterbury. It's a lovely setting next to the river Stour and an ideal resting place for some refreshments. Lovely to see the punts on the river. If you have children, there's a great play... More

These gardens are very pretty and well worth a walk round. The gardens are not large but big enough to make the visit worth while.

Beautiful and peaceful - perfect during the summer months where there is plenty in bloom giving the gardens a lovely colourful scene. Perfect set up for a summer picnic

Incantevole! Giardini tenuti benissimo, come in tutta l'Inghilterra. È in pieno centro e facilmente raggiungibile. Beautiful! The garden is making very well, like in all of the England. In is the Middle of the city centre and you can go here very easyly!

Down just outside the walls it starts off as picturesque and then breaks off into a path along a river bank. Some distance before you reach the playground which is actually quite good, although busy with all sorts of people and felt we had to watch the kids closely. The gardens were pretty but packed and full of student type... More
