Nicest gardens in Canterbury!

Westgate gardens are always kept so well - they're absolutely beautiful! There are plenty of places to sit along the river and in the main gardens.

Plenty of seating along the river to sit and watch the ducks and spot the fish. Well manicured and tended gardens; a little oasis just off the centre of Canterbury

These are very beautiful and peaceful gardens open to the public 7 days a week. Many a picnic has and will be taken here. There are seats and plenty of grass to sit on. The flowers and trees are lovingly tendered and kept tidy and really pretty. I love to sit and reflect here.

A lovely place to sit and contemplate by the river. Some people take a picnic but really so nice just to sit and watch the world go by

Lovely gardens, perfect for a walk on a nice day. Peaceful canal with boat tours and locals and tourists enjoying enjoying the freedom. Beautiful and well-kept houses surround the gardens. Are they the best gardens? No. But do they suit the tranquility and peaceful atmosphere of the town? Absolutely.

This is a little piece of heaven in the middle of a very busy city. Whether you want to walk or just sit and relax this is the place for you. In the summer months you can take a trip on the river which is delightful or you can walk right through the gardens and on into the countryside

Beautiful gardens, with the Great Stour river passing right through them. A perfect place to relax in the sun.

I live in the area so have been in these gardens many times. They are the starting point now for the long river walk west, all the way to Chartham and more if you want. They were the first place I took photos when I came to the area and they frame the West Gate towers beautifully. It's a scene... More

Stumbled on these lovely gardens by accident. A good find. What a delight these gardens are. The riverside walk with the Punts make for a great stroll. The gardens are well laid out and planted up beautifully. The buildings surrounding add to the pleasure of this oasis I the city centre. A great spot for a picnic too.
