This is a very nice park that incorporates what is believed to be the original motte of William the Conquerors motte and baily castle. It's a nice climb up to great views of the city. Here also is some of the best sections of the remaining city walls and towers which are a nice walk.

Beautiful gardens and can be very peaceful. Don't forget to go up the mound. Many functions are held in the gardens including food fares. There is also a bandstand which is put to use occasionally. In the middle of the gardens is a large fountain. There is also a cafe within the gardens.

Great expanse of green lawn and fountains surrounding the town and following the old city walls of Canterbury. Canterbury Castle is within these gardens and you can still go into the ruins of one of Britain's most ancient castles.

Had a nice afternoon stroll through this park and used some of the historic wall-walk.Viewed lovely plants, trees and lawns.Lots of families picnicking and having fun. However some areas care worn ( old street lamps) not repaired or maintained. Monuments were littered or had graffiti on them.

Great place to have a stroll or take the children to run off some energy. Lovely fountain and clean open gardens. Small cafe offering drinks and snacks.

We had a lovely walk through the Dane John Gardens. It's beautifully planted, with flowers and trees. We enjoyed an iced tea and sat on the grass in the sun. Will definitely return with my six year old to play in the children's area. He will love the little castle!

Worth walking through as the gardens are well kept and the surrounding housing very elegant. Access to the city walls is easy at this point.
