We rarely get a day to ourselves as parents but today we decided to have a little boat trip. It was scenic, extremely relaxing and the guy taking the tour told us lots of interesting facts about the history of Canterbury and the buildings. I'm pregnant but the boat was really comfy and the water shallow (I can't swim either!)... More

If you visit Canterbury, or even live here, a river ride in a punt is a must, I think so!! We enjoyed it, and learnt about the history of the area. The children found it fun ducking down to fit under low tunnels. I was a student in Canterbury nearly 20yrs ago And have always wanted to try this out.... More

We've now done all threeof the river Stour boating trips, and this is definitely the best. Comfortable seating on the punt, with an informative commentary from our humorous guide, I believe his name was Ty. This is a lovely stretch of the river, we saw lots of ducks, fish and places of interest, including many low bridges! Well recommended for... More

We had a coffee @ their coffee shop then were punted down the River Stouse by a handsome young blonde male ( that's a treat for a start) named Mitchell who gave us a relaxing mini cruise with commentary of the history of the river/ the surrounding area and tips where else to visit on a pleasantly sunny afternoon .It... Besides Canterbury Cathedral, The Canterbury Tales and The Roman Museum we found this another great outing. The punts are much more romantic and roomy than the rowing boats which also tour the river. Mitchell had lots of information to share about Canterbury's history and was keen to answer any questions. It was especially exciting to drift underneath the high street... More

If you visit Canterbury, then be sure to take a historic sail down the river. This company has the traditional gondoliers with blankets included :-) You really can lay back and take it all in for 45 minutes. During the tour your learn this history about Canterbury.

There are a couple of different types of river trips to choose from but this is the best one to pick because the boats are lower and narrower which allow them to go under the older tunnels. The boats are lovely and comfortable and punting gently down the river, you could be in Venice!

We found this by accident as we were on our way to a different river tour. So pleased we did! A wonderful experience from start to finish. We were met on the corner of Stour Street (opposite the museum in the High Street) by two very friendly ticket sellers (in the photo), had a little chat, bought our tickets and... More

Eight of us in our sixties, seventies & eighties had a wonderful trip (40 mins approx) on the shallow part of the Stour punted by Mitchell. The staff were most helpful before the trip started, gave us a group discount & were very helpful in our embarkation & dis-embarkation. Mitchell was most entertaining and knowledgeable and really made our trip.... More
