What a lovely way to see Canterbury from the river! The two of us were alone in the boat with our guide, Vilma, who managed to steer the boat, duck the bridges, and keep up a very knowledgeable and informative commentary throughout. Absolutely lovely and you get to see some hidden corners. We chose the "historic city tour" option; there... More

My husband and I took a trip on a boat down the river and really enjoyed it. We are glad we took the punting boat rather than the row boat. There was just to two of us on our boat and we enjoyed meandering down the river, seeing parts of Canterbury we'd never seen before. It was very peaceful and... More

This attraction was very busy when we visited, for which the guide apologised. however, there was much confusion as to who was going into which boat which delayed the start. we were a party of 4, and told to sit 2 opposite 2 in the boat, which left a spare seat on either side. We were then asked for one... More

Our group of four was fortunate to catch the last trip of the day just as the sun was settign over beautiful Cantebury. We were alos very fortunate to have two guides instead of the usual one on our boat as they were doing some training scenarios for emergency stops etc. Boat guides were charming and very knowledgable and quite... On the Canterbury Canal, you have a choice between rowing tours and punting tours. Take the punting tours. The boats are more comfortable. They're more traditional. And most importantly, it's easier to get down low in a punt, which you will need to do when the boat goes under bridges and through tunnels. (Watch out for spiders!) The punting tour... More

We went this as part of a group, staff were very helpful in ensuring we all safely got seated in the punt a word of warning the punt has very low seating so it was a bit of a struggle to get out of the punt at the end of the trip but we all managed it with the help... More

Had a wonderful trip on the Stour with the Canterbury Punting Company, and our charming guide was the spitting image of Christoper Marlowe! A lovely and relaxing tour that should be top of the to-do list when in Canterbury

Canterbury offers a wonderful setting to go punting. Would recommend going on the longest duration punt as even that seemed to go quickly, but it's well worth the extra money. Our guide was extremely helpful and could answer every question we threw at him about the river and local area.
