Brilliant tour, with interesting history and jokes by captain blackbeard! Learnt loads and had a pleasant trip up and down the river, captain blackbeard also gave us suggestions of places to go to afterwards. The price was reasonable too! Would definitely go again 😊

The tour was about 30-40 minutes long, and while it didn't cover a massive portion of the river running through Canterbury, Captain Blackbeard (to be fair it was a very impressive beard) gave us a LOT of information about the local landmarks; the Eastbridge Hospital, the Franciscan monks chapel, the mill, the history of Marlowe etc. etc. was very much... We enjoyed our trip with Captain Charlie. Fun and educational, although some stories could have been Canterbury "tales". Thoroughly recommend.

This is a great way to spend an hour on the river. The tour guide told me all about the river stour and the houses that we passed. There are a lot of things to see and even fish in the river the staff are very nice.

Whilst visiting Canterbury for the weekend we thought we would give this attraction a try. The lads who operate the boats are great fun...knowledgeable and friendly. I expect they know the 'talk' off pat but they managed to keep it fresh and entertaining. Whilst trip takes 40/45 mins you don't actually travel far which is a shame as it must... More

We really enjoyed starting our stay in Canterbury by taking this boat tour on the river through the heart of Canterbury. The guide was very friendly and well-versed in local history and culture. While the ride was about 30-45 minutes, we only wished that it had gone farther down the river and that we could have seen more. Otherwise, definitely... More

We were recommended to this tour by our guesthouse landlord and can fully recommend the experience. Fun and reasonably knowledgeable young guide and rower, Captain Chris, kept us entertained as well as helping us find out more about Canterbury past. Well worth the money.

We're first time visitors to Canterbury, so of course we wanted to learn a little about the city. We decided to try the historic boat trip. Captain Henry managed to infuse his often violent history lessons (full of beheadings, tortures, dipping chairs and the like) with both drama and humour, even if his jokes were a bit cheesy (which we... I found this great tour thanks to their personable and helpful guys passing out pamphlets on the streets. Half of my interest in the tour was just to get off my feet for a while but it turned out to be so fun and interesting. Our Captain Cox was very entertaining and knowledgeable (if some of his facts were stretched... More
