This was like dinner theater, on a small boat, in a very shallow river, with Kriss, our consummate performer/host/rower at the helm. He made 600 yards of tepid water as entertaining as a quality local theater performance of Pirates of Penzance. Brilliant. High energy. Worth every penny.

This 40 minute trip from the Weavers on the River Stour is thoroughly recommended to those visiting Canterbury and who wish to know more about the city. Vincent our 'Captain' gave us a very entertaining and historical account as he rowed and guided us (sometimes even with his feet) along the narrow waterway. This tour is ideal for all family... More

Entertaining and knowledgable Captain Blackbeard (George) a thought provoking and very good historian. Weather was warm and river was clear as a bell. Great hours journey wish it was longer, but had more to see. I recommend everyone see this side of Canterbury.

A fantastic surprise. An informative and funny tour, with everything you would want from a boat tour. Information about the city itself, and the people who have made it famous. Captain Henry was a delight, and really brought to life the tour, and does a fantastic rendition of a sea shanty under the echo bridge. Brilliant, thoroughly recommend it.

We spent a very enjoyable 40 minutes being rowed up and down the central strip of the river Stour. Chris was our guide he was really knowledgeable and made the trip a relaxed and fun experience. What better way to spend some time on summer's afternoon?

We went Saturday 26 July and had a lovely time. Really interesting and in a beautiful setting. Our guide had to row on one of the hottest days of the year and still managed to make the tour for us.Kris was excellent.

A very pleasant surprise on taking this tour. Our boatman and guide, George, was knowledgeable, friendly, amusing and very good company throughout. Indeed all the staff were pleasant and welcoming. Would definitely recommend this if you are visiting Canterbury. We left the boat feeling very happy!

Captain Blackbeard (George :-) took us on a thoroughly enjoyable journey, both physically and historically. It was a gorgeous day, the water is so clear, and the stories really interesting. Seeing Canterbury from the Stour was lovely, and hearing about the history made for a great afternoon activity. George was great, he was very knowledgeable, super friendly and made the... More

A fantastic introduction to Canterbury, a relaxing, entertaining view of the place. Vincent is a great guide - the right mix of chat, knowledge and humour. His historical linguistic knowledge was fascinating. His enthusiasm for his job showed and made the 40 minutes fly by. Very highly recommended. The highlight of my day out in Canterbury.
