Hever Castle is a real gem located less than an hour from London. The grounds are well kept, and there's quite a bit to see (whether history buff, gardener, or child looking for a maze to play in). For children there is an adventure playground and water maze, as well as rowboats, and for adults the paintings, architecture and objects... more

Make sure you take time to walk around the lake, it is such a lovely and tranquil walk with only the sounds of birds and the trees on... more

Four friends and I visited Hever Castle on a Sunday in March, and we all loved it. One of our group loves anything to do with the Anne Boleyn era, so she was in seventh heaven. But the rest of us were surprised at how much we loved the castle, too. It's small compared to other castles, but that's part... more

This may have been the highlight to a wonderful vacation in London. Granted-- my mom and I are both Tudor buffs so we enjoyed seeing where Anne Boleyn (& Mary) resided. Regardless, the castle is a wonder and the countryside is gorgeous. We took the train from London Bridge station to Hever Station (just under an hour). The station is... more

First off, I must let everyone know that I am a complete nerd when it comes to Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, so I was determined to like this castle before I even arrived. However, I was not disappointed. We spend approx 4 hours there and loved every minute. We arrived when the gardens opened, and spent time in the... more

You can visit Hever during the Winter now and while the flowers aren’t in bloom the castle tends to take on a cozier feel than when I’ve visited during the warmer months. To our benefit, Astor chose to preserve as many of the historical architectural elements as possible. This shows and much of the original paneling remains from the time... more

This castle is located in the scenic countryside of Kent. This time we toured it in November, but on a previous trip, we visited the castle in June, and there were lovely rose gardens to walk through. The castle was the home of Anne Boleyn, and it holds a wealth of history among its walls. Just walking through the door,... more

Hever Castle is a Must See when you arrive at Gatwick. It seems like a long drive after a 8 hour flight but, tired, or not. it's worth the stop. It was the Home of Ann Bolyn, one of the less fortunate Wives of King Henry VIII. She was born, raised and dated the King from this castle (LATER HE... more

We went to Hever Castle in September '04. Its a small but nice castle. The corporation that owns it has kept it and the surrounding gardens up nicely. Touring inside the castle, you get to see many things that was in the castle during its heyday. The surrounding gardens were beautiful. While we were there, there was a joust tournament.... more
