The Isle of Wight Coastal path (where it is on the coast) is a truly wonderful place to stroll. There are many places where you will hard pushed to beat the views of the sea, cliffs, etc, etc. My favourite walks are Shanklin to Ryde and Chale to Yarmouth, the former sadly has a few places where the path has... Fantastic trip to the island, used public transport, you do need a couple of days to see it all . High speed ferry was great

Fantastic - for the most part, but the whole coastline is not acceptable due to some pathetic get- out clause from the Westminster Government about the Isle of Wight not being part of the main. The path deviates from the coast at Bembridge & Priory Bay. Bembridge is not a problem as you can go on the beach. At Priory... More

The Isle of Wight Coastal Footpath isn't the toughest long distance walk, but its still a nice little challenge. Beautiful scenery nearly all the way and a lot of different terrain - cliff tops, marshland, river estuaries, beach. Its like walking Britain in miniature. You can do it in three days but much better to take a week and enjoy... More

The majority of the walk is stunning and will show you the astonishing variety of coastal scenery to be found on the island. The best bits in my view are from Blackgang Chine west to Yarmouth, essentially the south and west coast. Here the coast path is almost entirely along the cliff tops, which are very high and with stunning... More

There are 2 ways to walk from Shanklin to Sandown, we walked over the top following the costal path which is in parts hilly ok for abled bodied or reasonably agile people. There are seats along the path to rest your weary bones. We walked the way back from Sandown to Shanklin via the beach path and passed various beach... More

We do bits of this throughout our holidays. The part between Blackgang and The Needles is best, but don't restrict yourself just to there! Sadly some coastal erosion means some bits get re-routed away from the cliffs but that's nature for you.

My partner and used the Isle of Wight Coastal footpaths frequently between Shanklin and Sandown and would most definitely to all, we saw so many lovely and friendly people doing the walks from all ages, give yourself at least an hour for the Shanklin to Sandown or vice versa walk this takes in all the wonderful views of the coast... This footpath provides some of the best vistas we have witnessed in Britain. The glorious weather helped but the views were magnificent.

The coastal path goes all around the island. Some most interesting places to visit on the way, absolutely beautiful scenery. Nature at its best.
