Well laid out and maintained rose and flower gardens. Good parking and tasty clotted cream scones. Easy to follow, level paths so good for elderly and babes in prams. Absolutely beautiful on a sunny day. Would have liked to have more details on Rose names etc but a minor critiscm.

Many gorgeous rose climbers and bushes some looked a bit dead or withered. The majority were lovely and I do appreciate it is hard and delicately skilled work looking after a rose garden of that size. There was a wedding when I went, very grateful I was still allowed in, but felt at times different entrance would be appropriate for... More

We had a wonderful afternoon here. Such an opportunity to see a wide variety of specimens in a superb garden. A lot of hard work has gone into this. The tearoom is nice but the prices are silly; the cakes are good but limited and the sandwiches though freshly made are on basic sliced bread and the choice is poor.... More

I hadn't realised that such beautiful roses were on my doorstep. There were so many varieties that I found it difficult to choose a favourite! There is a lovely cafe there too with homemade cakes and scones. Will visit again next year.

This beautiful garden is only open for six weeks each year. It closes on 2 August 14 so don 't delay or you will miss it for this year. The smell of roses hits you as you walk towards the entrance and once you are in it's hard to know where to go first, you will be surrounded by a... More

A trip with 41 senior citizens on a fine sunny day. Well laid out gardens and excellent display of roses. The ponds were clean and with large and young fish swimming most contentedly. A pleasant way to spend a morning with plusses for the number of seats available for the weary traveller.

I'm not sure what the previous reviewer was expecting as these gardens are not really aimed at children, more for rose lovers and enthusiasts. I should mention however that I spotted one of the members of staff handing out a activity sheet to some children visiting with their parents. We spent a very pleasant afternoon at the gardens yesterday, viewing... More

Bit disappointed with this place.. We were only there about an hour before going I to butterfly world so after paying it really wasn't worth it. The tea rooms were very expensive and you couldn't get a proper lunch just cakes etc. Gardens were lovely and roses looked beautiful. The ponds could do with a major clean as were just... More

You have to visit on a nice sunny day. There is free car parking and it's easy to get in. Once inside you can wander around in very pleasant surroundings smelling and photographing the flowers. There are plenty of places to sit and appreciate the ambiance. PS Don't forget your antihistamines.

Felt lucky when we arrived on a free entry day. Would happily have paid the entry fee. Sunny day, banks and banks of gorgeous flowers and enticing paths for a gentle potter. What is not to like? I could feel myself unwinding after a horrid week at work just by being somewhere so very beautiful. We were the youngest people... More
