Absolutely love this place! I cannot stress enough how much The Crown has changed in the last couple of months. The managers are amazing, the staff are amazing and the food is amazing (yes that's right the kitchen is finally open!) The Crown is slowly turning back the years and getting back to how it should be!

Me and my husband went there to have just a pre-drink before having his Christmas staff dinner next door -Abbey Spice. We were almost kicked out by the rudest woman bar tender ever or Manager - which is even more embarrassing!, 0 customer service skills! My husband was demanded from this woman to have a drink or leave the place,... More

Just a stones throw from Clarence Park in St.Albans stands one of the areas must visit establishments, the Crown. From the striking decor to the warm welcome from the staff, this grand old public house caters for all of your needs and offers a fantastic mix of traditional and modern, suited to any taste.

We pop in here for a drink about once a week on the way home from work and have always been welcomed warmly by Zoe the landlady. She chats easily to all her customers and on the few occasions when I've turned up before my husband I didn't feel particularly awkward being a lone female there. Can't comment on the... More

St Albans has loads of pubs, but here is a super find away from the shopping crowds, with cleanest toilets I have ever been in! Food was tasteful and reasonably priced, drinks prices regulated by brewery but what a landlady!

Great cask ale, great customer service...clean and reasonably priced menu. The landlady is lovely "wannabe comedian" or not and as it brewery tied the price of drinks are out of her hands...she works extremely hard and is extremely friendly and can not do enough for you. I am a regular here since she took over and I have to say... More

The wannabe comedian landlady is exceptionally rude. She had a "funny" remark for everything I said, when I feigned interest in the pub, she didn't even bother to respond. Avoid this pub like the plague. £12.40 for two vodka&coke (albeit doubles) is not really in keeping with the Hatfield road area either.

My darter has moved to a new flat just up the road, so this has become her new local.....shame. So we popped in for a few beers. It's an OK place, a burger and chips sort of place with a pool table and dart board, and nothing particularly good or bad. It wasn't busy even at 10 on a friday... More
