The old house, c.15/16 is more interesting than the bigger one. The big house is a lesson on how politicians make a living. More

The ancient & historic Hatfield House, home to the young Queen Bess (Elizabeth I) is within quick and easy reach from London's Kings Cross Station, being just across the road from Hatfield Station. The house is open from Wednesday to Friday from 12 noon till 4:30 pm. The House & gardens are highly enjoyable and the extensive Parkland with its... More

Residence of Queen Elizabeth (the 1st) when she was a child. The house is not currently occupied, so it has a definire museum feel to it. Guides through the house are very knowledgeable and open to all sorts of questions about the house, its occupants and the extensive history of the house & gardens. The house has an impressive antiques... More

What a fabulous place, the paintings are magnificent the furniture very interesting and the whole place needs several visits to get the whole picture. The guides are very good with the odd bit of family information. Try and get a look into the old Palace which is close by the interior is stunning and the history of it amazing. The... More

I have visited Hatfield House many times and always enjoy it. The gardens in particular are fantastic and the house is very interesting with well informed and friendly guides. The last time I visited however, was to attend the Frost Fair in December and it was really disappointing. I chose not to go at the weekend to avoid the crowds... More

This is a fascinating house to visit, but if you can come when the weather is good, the grounds are well worth exploring. Sometimes antique or dolls house fairs make it even more interesting. More
