This is a fascinating place to visit, which has been lovingly preserved to bring out its compelling history. The gardens are delightful to walk in too.

Hellens seems to have a notion of its worth in the nations heritage, but seems unable to efficiently promote its cause, nor to handle more than a handful of visitors at a time. Even on Apple day, the House was closed up early, with plenty of visitors still around. The lack of brochures and guides is a major deficiency. The... More

A beautiful, atmospheric early tudor house in red brick, with attractive gardens and ghostly family narratives. Easily reached by car and nearby to Ledbury, it can be overlooked by the traveller concentrating on the town centre, but do put it on your itinerary.

My dad got married here and it was AMAZING!! The barn had so much character for our vintage theme. The grounds were outstanding; perfect for the photos with animals and a bar. The wedding was amazing and I would highly recommend this wedding for a DIY vintage wedding!

Guided tour of the house which took about 1 hour 15 mins. Our guide was very knowledgeable and the house was lovely. It was too wet to linger in the lovely garden but will definitely revisit

A wonderful old fortified house with a very entertaining and informative guide. The house is still lived in and includes many old paintings and furniture which you can actually sit on and touch. Set in a quiet backwater near Ledbury. Well worth a visit.

We had a really interesting tour of this amazing place. Went midweek so not too busy. Great tour guide made it very informative but with a light touch. Plenty of time to ask questions and see what was on offer. Lovely tea rooms too.

My partner and myself have visited Hellens twice in the past and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience of this magical place. We are both connoissieurs of fine art and furnishings but also enjoy the many historic houses that are still lived in or tenanted with their eclectic collections of maybe not so fine furnishings but atmospheric interiors, of which Hellens...
