We did this tour as a fill in but found it was much better and more worthwhile than we thought. Everyone was so pleasant and so helpful and obliging it made one feel at home straight away. We learned a great deal about cheese making and certainly enough to realise it was best left to people who knew what they... More

Monkland is a very small dairy outside of Leominster and it makes an interesting stop along your route. If you go on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday, for a small fee, you can take a one-hour tour to see how they make the cheese. The tour was really interesting for us as we didn't know a lot about cheese-making and... More

The cheeses from this marvellous dairy would be good enough to grace any French table. The Monkland Blue is quite exceptional. Well done.

Visited Monklands Dairy today, excellent surroundings, super Ploughmans, informative tour! My only complaint is I bought what I thought was Old Monklands cheese as it was already wrapped but when I opened it up at home it was their creamier version.

My sister in law, who lives nearby in Staunton on Wye, took us to this small cheese factory. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable of the processes involve and made the visit most interesting. We saw every aspect and phase of the process to produce mature cheddar type cheese. Fabulous.

Arrived mid morning and were told a tour of the cheese factory was starting imminently which it did. We had 3 young children with us who were all quite interested in the talk especially getting to splat some curd on the floor! In total the tour was about 20/30 minutes and enlightening. The children enjoyed getting to test some of... More

Interesting to see the way the cheese is made, and to buy some. Quite a small undertaking but worth dropping in if you are passing.
