A lovely treat

We had no idea you could go inside especially for free, it's a lovely house. Very old with lots of information inside.

What a disappointment. Hereford was busy, the cathedral was thronged with visitors and yet the sixth placed attraction in Hereford is closed a lot of the time. I had to Walk round the building twice looking for the way in before I spotted a faded photo copy of the opening times hiden away behind leaded glass. As with much of... More

Whatever you do in Hereford, make sure that you visit The Old House. It is absolutely stunning and so beautifully laid out that we spent nearly two hours walking round it. They have so much wonderful furniture there and I was fascinated to read the books they had in every room describing the furniture, artifacts plus a description of what... More

This 1621 Jacobean timber framed 3 storey building is now a museum open to the public for free. Situated in the middle of town it looks beautiful on the outside & is richly furnished with period furniture & paintings on the inside. The stairs are quite steep in keeping with the age of the house but is well worth the climb.Friendly... Lovely old building in centre of town, great to meet up with crazy shopperholics, they can shop while you look round the house. Free to get in and knowledgeable staff and info. placed about. Just the right size to do a touristy thing, look at the door door and trot off to the pub! I live in Hereford and go... More

Situated right in the centre of town but not overly publicised this three-storey timber framed black and white house was moved to this location some years ago. You cannot fail to be impressed by its structure and contents. You would imagine this house to haver been occupied by somebody of status rather than those of more humble origin - originally... More

Good for a city walk, plenty old houses with the old wooden house in the centre, not sure what it is, no signs, being extremely rich and beautiful. Also visit the cathedral.

This was an awesome wee surprise in the city centre. Lovely service behind the counter, and the museum itself was very interesting too. Great stuff.

Really interesting to walk round. Bigger than it looks - over 3 floors, laid out with furniture to help you imagine how it might have been originally. Staff are not at all pushy - there if you want to ask questions but if you just want to wander around they leave you to it, so you can spend ten minutes... More
