It was interesting to see the chained library and Mappa Mundi but rather expensive on entrance fee considering what there was to see. £5 each for Senior Citizens

Nice cultural experience and the children enjoyed doing the quiz. I have to say they didn't spend much time looking at the Map though! :-) The chained library will be interesting to Harry Potter fans.

So glad we saw this powerful exhibit which explains how medieval people viewed their universe. Very knowledgeable guides. Fairly priced.

Fantastic exhibition, must visit if in Hereford. I have lived in this county all of my life and grew up knowing about the Mappa Mundi and it was a case of familiarity breeding contempt. We took a teenage Canadian relative to see it, and were blown away with the entire experience, also visit the Cloisters cafe.

Very informative cathedral staff really made the "map" come alive. Its whole history is remarkable and thank goodness it was saved from being sold off!

What a pleasure to see that some things are treasured and open to view. The volunteer staff were exceptionally helpful, spending so much time and with patience to explain the details of the exhibit, one lady going to great lengths to explain the details and process of making the materials to used to make the books in the chained library,... The Guide was extremely well-informed and the presentation was excellent - well worth a visit as part of the Cathedral experience.

Not really for the casual visitor but for those interested in history this is a must visit. There are detailed information boards which give the background and explain the map in detail. We read them all and this definitely ensures you get the most out of your visit. If you want to rush through it you'll be disappointed but take... More

This truly exceeded expectations. The Map itself is fascinating, with some very informative stewards to discuss it, and there is much more too in the way of interpretative displays. The Chained Library again is so very intriguing - I spent ages in there, chatting to the stewards and finding out so much. So well worth a visit! If you can... More

This was fascinating, a 700 year old artifact and a window on how our medieval ancestors envisaged the world. One of the greatest sights in the UK, in my opinion.
