Winchester College is set in lovely buildings in an area of the City which is peaceful and very pretty. It is the Oldest College for boys in the Country and has seen many famous Statesmen pass through its doors, many of us think Eton is the main Private School but Winchester is just as famous.

Take a tour round the College - details from Porters Lodge. See the beautifully kept grounds, the War Cloisters, with newly restored Jekyll garden, the Old School building, which once housed the whole school when it was founded in 14C. Take a wander round the Chapel, and Cloister court, where VIPs are welcomed by the whole school, and an address... More

Winchester has so much history and this college just adds to it. This boarding school is the oldest and longest running boys school in the country and is housed in some of the most lovely buildings in town. There are scheduled tours throughout the day and if you have time try to swing by

There was just two of us on the tour so we had personal service . The tour would have been good because our guide delivered it so well . The right amount of detail, not to stuffy and with clear affection for the place. It is not expensive either, so whilst it is not a long tour , it still... More

This has to be the most interesting place to visit in Winchester. Take the guided tour which starts at the Porters Lodge. The guide is enthusiastic and very knowledgeable about the college. We found the whole tour fascinating.

Winchester College has been on the same site for nearly 800 years and has a collection of fantastic building from that period onwards. Well worth a guided tour which are usually twice daily.

We enjoyed Miss Chris guiding us through the school and the great stories she shared about the school's founders, traditions, and the amazing architecture. Visited with my boys who are 8 and 12.

There were only two of us for the 11:30 am tour on a Monday. School was in session, which made the experience even more personal and enjoyable. The architecture and the history of the college made for a truly interesting one hour plus.
