So much history of the Anglo-Saxon & Norman Kings. Well explained. You can take photos. Didn't know it was the scene of Sir Walter Raleigh's trial or the 1973 IRA~trial. Winchester was the royal seat of power for King Alfred the Great. A superb visit.

Beautiful, well kept building, and home of the mysterious round table, which for a fan of any of the myths aned legends is a must see. There are some other interesting features, and I particularly enjoyed the Charles and Diana gates and gardens at tne rear. A fantastic, fee attraction:-)

Round table, Queen Victoria's statue and the scented garden made the Great Hall a good find and beautiful stained glass.
