We had an amazing time here. Staff all incredibly friendly and helpful. My 8 year old son had a great time looking for all the clues on his trail sheet (process of these from 50p) and he learnt a lot whole having fun. Dressing up clothes also provided for little knights and princesses! Lovely garden hidden behind. We were amazed... More

It is easy, when visiting the Great Hall to imagine that this could indeed have been the home of Camelot and King Arthur's Round Table, even if the one on display is dated to the thirteenth century and Henry V111 had it repainted with the Tudor Rose in the centre and an Author who showed a great resemblamce to himself!... Including the probably bogus "Round Table", this was an impressive slice of history. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Interesting ruins & excavations all around.

Walk up the hill to the Great Hall at the top of the high street. Not a lot there, but on one end is a large circular table (on the wall) which legend has, was King Arthur's... Fine view of the city below. Free entry when it is open.

The only remains of Winchester castle is the great hall . This was used as a law court until 1975. The hall also houses the supposed remains of King Arthur's round table. there isn't really an entrance fee , but there is a suggested donation of £3

Take time to go round this place. Especially the garden and the long gallery. The model shows the City in Victorian times.

The Great Hall itself with the exterior ruins makes a site not to be missed. The attached garden is worth exploring in detail

If you're into history you will certainly want to visit and who doesn't want to see the round table ? Once you've entered the Great Hall you'll appreciate that apart from narration and some paintings in the adjacent corridor the only thing here is the wall mounted table (top)and the obligatory shop. Nonetheless it is free and worthy of the... More
