I enjoyed our visit to this museum, finding it full of interesting information on history of the Royal Green Jackets. There is a particularly impressive model of the Battle of Waterloo on the 1st floor and some great stories of the individuals who served with them.

Came across this museum by chance (it was advertised on the park and ride bus stop). It's not very well signposted but worth seeking it out, as the entrance fee for an adult was only £3.75 with children going free and that makes this place a top find in my view. Lots of stuff to read and research, but even... More

We had high expectations of the museum and it is full of displays but it became a little boring, which I hate to admit as my husband esplecially was keen to visit from what he had heard. It just appeared a little tired and in need of a bit of a facelift or someone to provide a personal touch. Ok... More

This museum is versatile and surprisingly interesting for the non-military-enthusiastic (such as myself) as well. Unlike some of the other Winchester military museums it has an entrance fee, but it was rather tolerable (a few pounds). There is an extensive collection of items on display and lots of historical background to tie the story of the regiment to the history... More

This place is within the centre of Winchester. My bf took me here as it's where he used to be housed in the barracks when he was in the army. The museum itself is fascinating, a must if you like history and war. It's not that big but for me it was lovely to see a bit of my bf... More

The long history of military activity associated with the UK is covered here. Very complete and thorough, well laid out, and well presented. One of the better military museums, especially in presenting the infantry and its major contributions. A must for a history buff. The Waterloo diorama is outstanding and provides a good overview of the battle. Entry charge is... More

A very well laid out military museum. A huge amount of information to take in , probably too much for one trip. The displays are well presented and clearly labelled.

Often visit here. The staff are consistently friendly and welcoming. The food is simple but well presented. I particularly like the paninis - always presented with a small side salad and dressing. Very reasonably priced too. A place where the staff are pleasant and seem to value your custom. Highly recommended if you're at the top of town. Pity they're... More

The museum is a well organized history of the Rifle Regiment. Good displays, maps, uniforms. A well stocked shop with Green Jackets stuff.
