Our 140-acre park is home to an incredible range of exotic and endangered species, in beautiful, landscaped surroundings. Just by visiting Marwell Zoo (owned and operated by conservation charity, Marwell Wildlife) you'll be making a big contribution to our projects to conserve species and habitats, both here in Hampshire and around the world. Our biggest ever exhibit opens this summer - Wild Explorers an immersive new home for our rhinos, scimitar horned oryx and Grevy's zebras. These are all species we have special responsibility for in the wild.

Clean and well signposted, with a wide range of exciting animals. The enclosures were spacious and the animals looked happy. A fantastic day out, great value for money.

Great place for family or individuals to visit. With a whole range of animals from Giraffes to Penguins and plenty in between. The pens and enclosures are very visit friendly with good view points and lookouts. Will keep you interested for hours. There are lovely natural picnic areas too. Also a cafe with a wide range of refreshments on offer.

Was pleasantly surprised with marwell today, am not the biggest fan of zoo's but found the enclosures to be good and the animals seemed to be fairly active and stimulated compared to other zoo's I have seen. Yes some animals were inside probably due to the weather but most have viewing areas or Windows into the inside areas. Only slight... More

Went to Winchester for the weekend and decided to go to the Marwell Zoo. After seeing it was number 4 of the things to do in Winchester I thought it would be half decent but it was even better than that. I would really recommend coming to visit the Marwell Zoo if you come to Winchester. The zoo was easy... More

We went to Marwell Zoo on a visit for my birthday on a visit to Winchester. The zoo is big, with lots of walking entailed albeit that you can get a Rail Train that goes around the zoo, and a Road Train that picks up and drops off at certain places. It was a cold day so it wasn't too... More

We came today to visit for the first time in a year! We had a fantastic day. The new wild explorers area is unbelievably fantastic! The new animal enclosures are beautiful. We met one of your volunteers in the aviary and he spent lots of time talking to us about the birds and all your recent developments. It was lovely... More

We went to see specifically the Fossa which is a very unusual animal and we were lucky enough to see two! as most of the other animals were staying inside out of the cold. Not so good trying to get a cup of coffee in the Graze café as it seemed chaotic and unorganised with people not queuing properly. Good... More

Hello Gillian S, thank you for visiting Marwell Zoo recently to see our wonderful fossas. Most of our animal enclosures do enable guests to see the animal wherever it is, inside or out. However, we recommend revisiting any animals that you might have missed on first attempt later in the day when there is a good chance the animal may... More

Really enjoyed this zoo, spent a good 5 hours here, clean facilities, nice food and plenty of choice. Easy to navigate good clean areas for the animals, happy well looked after animals in clean pens. Prices were very reasonable, rail ride wasn't running but had a land train. Keepers were knowledgeable and friendly. Would list in my top 5 zoos... More

Enjoyed our day here, some good photo opportunities, good pathways, interesting information and animals looked well cared for. Café areas were very busy and a bit messy.

Thank you beermill, for visiting Marwell Zoo. We’re happy you enjoyed your day with our lovely animals and managed to get some good photo opportunities! On busy days it’s best to avoid Café Graze during busy lunchtime hours in order to beat any queues, perhaps by spending an extra hour looking at our animals. Our catering team work as quickly...
