A really great zoo with lots of large enclosures and endangered species. There is always lots of animals to see at this zoo and it is always great to see what has changed. At the moments the star attraction has got to be the Amur leopard cub and young hippo.

Visited Marwell with my sister as we are both animal people and really wanted to see the snow leopards. We didn't have high expectations but we were really pleasantly surprised. The animals are in great condition and the enclosures are more like the enclosures you see in safari parks rather than the traditional zoo cages. A few of the animals... More

Got to the zoo when it opened for the day by about 12 i had seen most of the enclosures of sleeping, hiding animals by this time I was bored as bored could be!!!!! by the time I left I was more enraged than enthralled could have seen more... My mum, my daughter and myself visited Marwell on sat and only had 4 hours so we knew we wouldn't manage to see everything. We arrived just after 10am and got into the zoo very quickly. We knew what we really wanted to see so did that first. We loved the space the animals had and the selection there was... More

Went with my other half worrying that we would not see much due to the autumn weather and that we would be wasting our money. We were wrong to be concerned. Despite the weather the animals were happy to be out or cuddled up in bed, cant understand some of the reviews saying that there were lots of empty enclosures... More

When our grandsons heard there were dinosaurs at Marwell Zoo … not real ones, of course … it was no contest. I swear, those lads were more interested in the fibreglass model dinosaurs then they were in the real animals. Marwell is a pleasant little zoo, not as crowded as some of the more popular ones. You can, of course,... More

In terms of value for money it is maybe a 3 out of 5. But the park has had a lot of improvements to the animal enclosures and these would not be cheap. Onsite eating is on par for this type of place. The giraffe enclosure is brill and you can get up close, the snow leapard enclosure is also... More

Marwell has so much going for it - on paper. Having arrived bright and early we were pleased to see the Giraffes and Penguins were out on form - the giraffe attraction in particular is great, especially for little ones who can get pretty close to the animals. The Encounter village seemed derelict - we couldn't see any animals at... More

Plenty of car parking is a bonus. Until 2 years ago, we bought annual passes for 10 years - but then few animals seemed to be on view - we were told "we keep animals in their natural environment" :( I went 3 days running to see the Snow Leopard Cub and stayed all day with flask and sandwiches ......
