Informative & picturesque

A beautiful and historic place which was very informative! It had something for everyone but felt like it was mostly for children! The Garden was beautiful and picturesque!

We went on a sunny Saturday and there were only a few visitors. There were rooms for children to enjoy, but all was quiet today. Enjoyed the `ghost talk` in the first room and the unhurried ramble around the Tudor house. Creaky floorboards and wonky doors, centuries old graffiti and interesting artifacts were to be found. We had a drink... More

We love it! Get the trail quiz, it costs £1 in a little pack, including a pencil. The building is fascinating, from the spooky cellar to the ancient graffiti.

Coffee shop is average and expensive to go in but the gift shop is well worth a visit. You get a warm welcome when you visit too.

Bumped into this with partner and what a bonus. Tells story of Southampton aswell as the actual house, lovely gardens audio tells you all about the house as you go round. Little videos and exhibits add to the experience, nice staff and there is a cafe if you need it. Less then a fiver an adult is a bargain!

Visited on the off chance whilst visiting southampton. Cost 17.45 for us to enter but i spent nearly that again in the tearoom which is very overpriced. No wonder ot was empty! If you dont scour the walls for information plaques you wouldnt find anything out. Apart from a trip to the air raid bunker it was really rather boring.... More

Quick tour and worth the admission price. Lots of historical information and the gardens are beautiful. The view of Southampton from the gardens is amazing and café is very good. Wish the gift shop had a little more variety.

We often have coffee and cake and sit in the Tudor garden - it is so pleasant and quiet with lovely surroundings - you don't have to visit the museum if you don't want to - just say it is the cafe only and they let you in for free! Walk through to the cafe and garden to enjoy a... More

Worth visiting for the cafe and garden alone. Very well done little museum, with excellent interpretation and interesting exhibits.
