Quick tour and worth the admission price. Lots of historical information and the gardens are beautiful. The view of Southampton from the gardens is amazing and café is very good. Wish the gift shop had a little more variety.

We often have coffee and cake and sit in the Tudor garden - it is so pleasant and quiet with lovely surroundings - you don't have to visit the museum if you don't want to - just say it is the cafe only and they let you in for free! Walk through to the cafe and garden to enjoy a... More

Worth visiting for the cafe and garden alone. Very well done little museum, with excellent interpretation and interesting exhibits.

Took my 6 year old grand daughter as she is learning about it at school and asked if we could visit. I thought the entry price was quite reasonable being as its Southampton Council and they always bleed you dry...... We went on a Sunday afternoon and were the only people there for the whole of our visit which lasted... More

Fantastic old building well looked after and full of interesting things. The Elizabethan garden is well worth a look but why oh why did they put up an awful modern cafe facing it. Like another act of council vandalism.

This is preserved half-timbered house is a must-see museum. If you haven't enough time just see the outside and the gift shop - they are wonderful. The museum which has varied exhibitions is the only part you pay for, so it's the luck of the draw as to what is on, but it is really worth seeing. There is a... More

Located in the middle of the old town, not far from High Street, you will find this interesting historical building. It has survived many centuries, rebuilding, the war, different times, and was made into a museum last century, The building is rather stripped of furniture and decoration. The interior has simple plackets and interactive panels. The audioguides are quite good... More

As we went in we spoke to two gentlemen behind the counter who were happy to serve and very friendly. They provide audio guides for free which is nice, but they didn't work so well for us. The first part of the tour is a spectacular guide to the house with special effects, great narration, and in our opinion was... More
