I live 5 minutes walk from The Common. One of the reasons for buying our house was so that we could walk the dog there. No matter what the weather it's a wonderful place to be. You can walk the quite trails around the edge of the common or go to the busier parts on the open ground and enjoy... More

Living in a city doesn't usually conjure up images of green spaces but we're lucky in Southampton to have this space. Great for just chilling with friends, playing in the park/outside gym with the kids, having something to eat in the Cowherds or taking part in the annual Race for Life

The Common in Southampton is a pleasant large open space int his large Town, plenty of space to walk, cycle or just sit and take in the piece. A nice area, worth a visit.

You can walk a dog, feed the ducks, play in a play area (and a water area in summer), run, cycle, investigate the superior selection of natural habitats (with some rare species of plants and animals), explore the fascinating history of the cemetery, and discover new walks every time you go. It is the jewel in Southampton's very simple crown.

Walked in the Common several days while visiting my daughter in Southampton. Huge, green, pleasant. What a treat to find this in the city!

It has been overtaken by parkrun, joggers and cyclists. Sadly there is little space for walkers. However that is true of Southampton everywhere. The common was a wonderful resource. Parkrun is terrifying for pedestrians. They park everywhere in the surrounding area, The noise of thudding feet is terrible. It is incredibly sad as its original aim was for local people and... The Old Cemetery located in the Common is very much worth seeing. It's 27 acres large with over 116,800 graves - all very old and unique. Many employees of the Titanic were from Southampton and also have graves in this cemetery.

This park is perfect for dog lovers and avid walkers. It is quite large so careful not to get lost in it. I am constantly seeing dogs running without a lead and it is not a problem at all. There are different pathways for bikers and walkers as well. Lots to do for families with kids.

The Common is an established large park bordering the north of the city which is used for various public events over the year. It is great for a long walk, cycle ride or a picnic/BBQ. It can be accessed from either The Avenue, Burgess Road or Hill Lane.

The common is a massive park in Southampton, great place to walk a dog, feed ducks. Learn to ride a bike. In the summer there is a massive paddling pool for kids plus play park. There is plenty of parking.
