It is difficult to avoid St Michael's. It is one of the older churches in the UK. The church yard reminds us of the churchyard we read about.
This is a fantastic Anglican church with a wonderful musical life. Stunningly high calibre choir at the 10:30 Sunday service in term times and often free lunchtime concerts in uni term time as well. The font is rare Belgian black marble and the tomb of Tudor Baron Richard Lister is there.
The oldest church in Southampton which survived the bombing in the War. Beautiful mediaeval and in the heart of the old city with Tudor House opposite and old pubs nearby. Also old city walls with old shops and wine stores underground. Well worth wandering round.
