This is a wonderful boat with a well-stocked bar. It is located near Dock Gate 4 terminal, which unless you are on a cruise is difficult to see unless there is a "do" on SS Sieldhall. Look out for those rare live entertainment gems Plus wave goodbye to ships while you sip your beer or port

Quirky old steam tramp kept in excellent condition. If you're of a naval background, especially if you were a steam era engineer (Stoker, Boiler Technician) you will really appreciate the ship.

I spent a wonderful afternoon on the Shieldhall celebrating a friends birthday. The view of the docks, Southampton Water and the Solent were spectacular and the food was excellent. All the way we had excellent and amusing commentary over the tannoy. The food for the party was excellent - well prepared and presented and I was able to take some... More

Hard work by volunteers has saved this old sewage ship and turned it into something special. Well worth a visit or I believe you can book it for parties etc.

Can remember the Shieldhall in previous guises so impressed by the way she has scrubbed up. Obviously a great deal of time, patience, money and love gone into the restoration and clean-up. Have seen her a couple of times on the water whilst sailing. Long live steam.

If you like nostalgia, this is for you..an old style steam ship. There is no where on board you can`t visit, even when she is underway. A true treasure of the seas. See the engines, smell the steam and oil, experience the boiler room, go up on the bridge, and sample southern hospitality in the saloon! The people who run... More

Went onboard as part of the SeaCity festival and also the Music in the City Festival. Good bands on both times, with excellent views of the liners coming and going. Friendly staff with bar selling excellent real ale beers.

She is a beauty alright, and we are very proud to have the largest working steamship of the kind in the whole of Europe I believe. I come here to get a living reminder of the golden age of steam in Britain! I call it the Titanic of Southampton and make sure to visit when overseas friends come over!

The salt air, tasty morsels, real ale, and a big fat steam engine: a pretty good start. Step aboard some British seafaring history, and maybe take a cruise, into the bargain. Not the cheapest day ut, but a memorable one.
