This little ship is worth visiting, not the easiest of places to get too but well worth it. It has been fully restored and catering is provided. Trips are held evry year during the better weatherand all areas of the ship can be accessed.

The nostalgia of the steam ship is that everyone have managed to visited it during the event "Music in the City". The view from the ship seems nice, as well.

Took my grandsons onboard whilst at Poole, very impressed they never stopped talking about their visit. We then booked to spend the day at sea watching the Bournemouth air show, wow what a fabulous viewing platform, and the whole crew we're marvellous in making it a great day out with a difference.

I arranged a trip on the SS Shieldhall for the 50th anniversary of the WM&ES. Part of the celebration was to have a meal on board. The catering was excellent! For an extremely small price we were served far more that we could eat, AND two members needed special meals which were included in the price. You just don't get... More

We've been on the Shieldhall a few times (including recently to see the Bournemouth Airshow), but what keeps us coming back is the level of access. I don't think there's a single "no entry" or "staff only" sign on the entire ship. At most tourist attractions there are areas that are off-limits, but on the Shieldhall you can go where... More

My visit to the steamer was to enjoy watching the Bournemouth Air Show together with my younger son and grandson (14).We left Poole Quay in fine sunny weather, steamed down the harbour and across to an anchorage off Bournemouth Pier. There were several RN vessels anchored (HMS Iron Duke,HMS Protector and an RFA Helicopter Training ship which was known to... More
