We were amazed at how well the house has been maintained and refurbished. This is by far the oldest house we've ever been in, and we were impressed by how well the merchant lived in medieval days.

Pleasant gardens as well as the house. We enjoyed coffee here too. Recommend a visit if you are going to the Tudor House.

What a find this house was the staff were friendly and informative. The gardens are great and we enjoyed lunch there. A clever and different way of showing history I thoroughly recommend this house to everyone.

Sited in an area of modern buildings this loan survivor of Herr Gorings Town planners is an interesting step back in time. although there are a few other restored medieval houses in the UK this one is the best without a doubt.

It is strange having such an old property surrounded by new buildings, although the second world war had a little hand in that.

Visited here as part of our English Heritage pass. It was an amazing house and really showed what it would have been like in the medieval times and has been well preserved. We found the staff to be very helpful and even opened up underneath so we could see what that was like - it was a nice touch. Free... More

The Medieval Merchant's House gives a unique view of what it was like in the medieval times and has been put together quite well and with a lot of care. It is well worth the time to wander about to get a real feel for what it must have been like to live like that.

It is a very well preserved medieval house, featuring original furniture, architectural details and clothing. We enjoyed this visit very much. Note that it is open only on Sundays from 12 to 5.
