An old city park towards the end of Southampton water right next to, what is left of, the Royal pier with great views of the huge ocean going liners and many other vessels. A small children's park, somewhat unkempt and rather dangerous for younger children and not a patch on the old one. Areas dedicated to fenced in ball games... More

Pleasant small grassed area with views of Southampton Water. It was walking distance of The Holiday Inn where we stayed and was a good contrast to the rest of the local area, which was the city centre.

We often call in here for a walk and an ice cream. Most of the year is pleasant and if the weather is really bad you can still sit in your car overlooking the sea. Depending on how busy the waterway is there is plenty to see and a pleasant way to kill and hour or two.

Regularly visited as a child. The play area has been relocated but the little kiosk selling ice creams etc remains.

Great to take the car down to & look out over the water. You can catch the boats at certain times but it is the weather that makes a difference ; on a perfect day it can be glorious ...... with plenty of opportunities to buy drinks or ice creams close by

Nice place with calm atmosphere. You can relax there after travelling for some time and enjoy the view on river and the boats there.

A wonderful place to sit and watch the world go by, so peaceful watching all kind of shipping from cruise liners to container ships and Red Funnel ferries. There are plenty of benches and parking costs are very reasonable. There are toilet, fast food outlet also selling wonderful New Forest ice-cream and a stalwart of a Mr Whippy type ice-cream...
