A well preserved boat, no doubt, and an important piece of history. You are forced to follow a path through the floors of the ship, past various patronising displays, that leaves you feeling subject to a raft of Royal Navy propaganda. The HMS Victory is magnificent! Granted, she does not appear as she did after the battle of Trafalgar. Rather she has been restored to all of her former glory. The ship is immaculately preserved. She is incredible in size. It is hard to believe she was built in the mid-1700’s. The best things about the site is that the ship... more

We took a trip to Portsmouth to visit the HMS Victory at the request of my father. We rode the train down from London, and the day was blustery and wet.
